“I’m sorry, Yale. I tried to locate you but I can’t.”
“What? When you failed, you stopped searching me?” Bigla akong kumawala mula sa pagkakayakap niya.
“It’s not that simple, Yale. I just wanted to protect you, my dear.”
Tumingin ako sa mga mata niya. Punong puno ng emosyon yung mga luha niya. I don’t even know how shoud I understand all those things.
“You left me hanging there and I never had the chance to know what it feels to have a mom.. I already accepted the fact that I was born without a mother beside me and I just got used to that. Galit din si Papa sayo..”
“I explained everything to him but he didn’t listen to me. Yale, if you just know, I sacrificed not seeing both of you just to protect you, dear. You were under your grandfather’ hand. Maari kang mamatay..”
“Matagal na akong patay. The day I learned na wala akong nanay, namatay na ako nun. But I just earned another life mula nung nandiyan na si Papa..”
“I love you Yale.. and I..” Bigla nalang siyang sumuka ng dugo tapos nabitaw ako mula sa pagkakahawak niya sa kamay ko. I tried to call the doctor tapos may dumating naman. Lumabas muna ako sa room. My daddy already explained everything to me pero kanina lang bago ako pumasok sa room ni Mam Flordeliza Manansala, hindi ko alam pero bakit hindi ko maintindihan lahat. But now, yung galit sa puso ko, napalitan ng awa. My mother has a leukemia and this is in a critical level. Thisnis my first time to see her tapos ganun pa yung kondisyon niya.
And right now, hindi lang siya yung nagpapabagabag sa akin. Naiiyak din ako kay Ludwig. It’s been 2 days since the accident happened. Pero Ludwig is still in unconscious state. Inexplain ko na din sa parents niya yung nangyari and they also told me the whole story. Natatakot lang sila for Ludwig and I since I am part of the Zciety dahil kay Mama. That means, I have to follow the traditional rules. Nanalantay sa ugat ko ang dugong Zciety sa ayaw at sa gusto ko pero ngayon, naguguluhan ako. Natutunan ko ng mahalin si Ludwig.
After some minutes of I and my father, I go to Ludwig’s room. Nakita ko naman yung parents niya. So umalis muna sila tapos nagpunta na ako sa bed ni Ludwig. Naaawa ako sa kanya. It’s been 2 days na wala siyang malay. Kasalanan ko ‘to e. Kasalanan ko to! Kung hindi ako naginarte, hindi ito mangyayari.
“Ah Yale?”
“Yes po Tita..”
“Here..” Inabot sa akin nung Tita ni Ludwig yung notebook kung saan sinulat lahat ng set up. Yung about sa how to help me move on over my past relationship with Fred. “Sinabi niya iha na ibigay ko daw sayo bago pa siya mawalan ng malay..” Pagkasabi niya nun, ngumiti siya sa akin. Tapos tumalikod na.
I opened the notebook tapos binasa ko ulit yung nakasulat.
