" Alright Midoriya," Mina yelled while pointing at him. The chosen members of class 1-A had all gathered in training room number 2 just as instructed, with little enthusiasm and no real expectations. If not counting the two support course members doing something in the corner and the five business class members running laps, the large gymnasium was practically empty. "Walk down here and pretend to read that map and be deep in thought. You'd better not move more than that, otherwise someone might bump into you, or worse, you fall off the stage."
Midoriya did so, feeling very awkward with every single step he took past the line made of his classmates. In his right hand he held a piece of yellowed paper, which on it was written in very large letters the word 'MAP'. They'd still need to make a lot of the props and set pieces by hand, so these placeholders would have to do for now.
He took another step to where he presumed the 'centre' of the stage would be about and sent out a silent prayer. Midoriya had been thrown into this lead position without much asking, it was only god's grace he didn't have to sing, or dance, unlike his other friends. Even Todoroki had some choreographed action in one scene. Mina had watched both boys throw down their very best moves, and on the spot decided that Todoroki was a gift from the heavens above and that Izuku was better off not doing anything but walking and standing.
" Good, that's good." Ashido held out a hand to indicate Midoriya needed to stop. "Perfect, stay right there. And now that's where you come in." She pointed at Sato and Hagakure, who perked up with the attention. They hurried to stand on Midoriya's side, Sato holding a wooden broom and Hagakure an empty basket. "Remember, you are the villagers! You live here, this is your precious home and he is a dirty, disgusting outsider!"
" But isn't tourism good for the economy?"
" That is not the point!"
" Okay, after you have taken your places, I will read the narration from here. Then it's your turn, okay? Everybody have a script?"
There were several hums and nods, along with the shuffling of paper.
" Great! Follow along people, I'm going to start." Mina coughed to clear her throat before plastering on a brilliant stage smile and turning to address the invisible audience. "After two days of traveling, our great hero finally arrives in the small village of Prumor. He looks for the witch girl his mother told him about. Perhaps she could help!"
She spun around and pointed at Uraraka who nearly dropped her script with fright.
" Alright babe, this is the moment you come in. Imagine, the lights lower, we drag your house into view from the side, there is music and smoke. It's going to be super-duper perfect." Mina took a hold of Ochako's hand and pulled her closer to Izuku. "Okay, say the lines!"
" Who knocks on my door?" Uraraka said in a loud, monotone voice, not nearly convincing enough to the director's ears. They'd practise this scene before, when they all read their lines in a circle, but having to do more than just read was difficult.
" It is I." Midoriya replied back, before stifling a giggle. Uraraka tried her best not to look at him, because she knew if she did, they'd both burst out laughing.
" Come in!"
Her friend took an exaggerated step closer, hand moving as if he was opening and closing a door.
" I am the good witch of the south- I mean north! Now, what is it that your heart desires?" Uraraka flipped a page, eyes trying to follow where they were currently at.
" I am looking to reclaim the lost-," Midoriya stumbled with his words, "-Lost lands of my people from the great dragon lord. I ask of you to j-join me. Come accompany me on this adventure."
