Chapter Ten

“So me and John are officially a couple now,” I said.

I was telling Hayden and Kira the next day at lunch.

“So he came to your house, to ask you out?” Hayden said.

“Huh. I guess so,” I said.

“And how’s Brad taking all of this?” Kira asked me.

“I don’t know. I haven’t seen him since the breakup,” I said.

“I bet he’s still in love with you,” Kira said.

“What makes you think that?” I asked.

“Heck, I don’t know,” she said as she took a bite of her sandwich.

“Wow. You have good reasoning,” I said sarcastically.

Hayden stifled a laugh.

“I’m just glad all of that fantasy stuff is through with,” I said, “I don’t have to worry about werewolf mumbo jumbo,”

“That’s true,” Hayden said.

“Well, I kinda liked it. It was just like a movie. Like Twilight,” Kira said.

Hayden and I stared at her.

“What? Don’t you guys think it’s cool to have a werewolf fight over you? It’s like a fairytale,” she said.

“Yea, it’s cool Kira. It’s just that earlier, you said that you hated Twilight.” I said.

“Yes, but a girl can change her mind right?” she asked.

“Not that fast,” Hayden said.

“Oh, whatever. But come on Tiffany. Don’t you miss Brad any?” Kira asked me.

“Well, maybe a little. But Brad is my past. And hopefully, John is my future,” I said.

“EWW!” Kira said.

“What?” I said.

“I can’t believe you’re already thinking about marrying him!” she said.

“I meant the rest of high school smart one,” I said.

“Oh. My bad,” Kira said.

“Speaking of John. Where is he?” Hayden asked me.

“Detention,” I said.

“He got detention?” Hayden asked.

“What did he do?” Kira asked.

“He made fun of Mrs. Adams hair,” I said.

Hayden and Kira busted out laughing.

“Well that’s good then! SOMEONE needs to let her know how hideous her hair looks!” Hayden said.

“I know! It looks like a big lemon!” I said.

We were still laughing when I heard someone say “ahem” behind me.

I turned around and there stood Mrs. Adams with her funky hair-do.

“Mrs. Jones, I hear you think my hair looks funny,” she said.

“Um, listen I’m so sorry about that,” I said.

“I’m sorry too. Maybe you’d like to tell me that again in detention,” she said.

“Ooohh,” Kira said.

I glared at her.

“Um, I don’t think so,” I said.

“What?” she said completely surprised.

“What are you doing?” Hayden whispered.

I ignored her.

And I reversed the clock.

“Speaking of John. Where is he?” Hayden was saying.

“Detention because he made fun of Mrs. Adam’s hair,” I said.

They started to say something.

“BUT I don’t know why, because her hair is AWESOME!” I said.

“What are you talking about?” Hayden said.

“Ssshh,” I said.

At that time Mrs. Adam’s walked by.

“Whoa. How did you know she was coming?” Kira asked me.

“I’m just that brilliant,” I said. “And no one gives me detention,” I said under my breath.
