Chapter Nineteen

I didn’t know what came over me but I found myself slowly kissing him back. Just like the old times we had together. But then I realized what I was doing.

“Wait, Brad. Stop,” I said pushing him away.

“I’m sorry, I don’t know what came over me,” he said.

“No, it’s ok. I know how you feel,” I said.

“What?” Brad said. But I didn’t answer him. I walked right out the door and I went straight to John’s truck.

“Hi,” John said.

“Drive,” I said.

“Um, ok. You wanna explain what happened in there?” he said.

“Nope. Just drive,” I said.

“Fine, cranky,” he said.

We were silent for the rest of the ride home. We got to my house and I was about to open the car door when John stopped me.

“Hey, what’s wrong?” he said.

“Nothing,” I said.

“You know, when someone says nothing, there’s usually something bothering them and they don’t want to say what it is,” he said.

“Ok. Fine. I’ll tell you. Brad kissed me,” I said. I got out of the truck, slammed the door, and walked into my house.

“Hi, honey. You were gone a while,” mom said when I walked in through the door.

“You want some tacos? I bought some from Casa Grande,” she said.

Tacos? Eww! Mom knows I HATE tacos.

“No thanks. I think I’ll just go up to my room and lie down for a bit,” I told her.

I went up to my room and lied down on my bed and heaved a big sigh. I didn’t know what to do. I decided to call Kira and tell her what was going on. I called her cell and waited for her to pick up.

“Hello?” she said.

“Hey, it’s me,” I said.

“Hey, what’s going on?” she said.

“Um, I kinda wanted to talk to you about something,” I said.

“Ok. Explain,” she said. So I launched into everything that has happened to me starting with meeting my grandma and then ending with Hayden and Brad hooking up and Brad kissing me.

“Whoa,” she said when I was done.

“Yea,” I said. “What do you think?”

“That’s pretty big, Tiffany,” she said.

“Yea, I……..” I heard a couple of beeps on my phone. “Hang on, Kira. I’m getting another call,” I said.

“Hello?” I said.

“Tiffany, you have to come to the hospital,”

“Who is this?” I said.

“It’s Emily, Hayden’s mother. Something happened to her and you have to come now,” she said, worry and impatience in her voice.

“Ok, don’t worry. I’ll be there,” I said. I switched back to Kira.

“Kira, I’ll have to call you back,” I said.

“Why?” she said.

“Hayden’s in the hospital,” I said.

“What? What happened?” she said.

“I don’t know,” I paused. “But I’m going to find out,”

Hey. Again, short chapter. But I figured I should end it there. :D Keep reading!! Love ya guys!!!
