Chapter Five

On the way to the hospital, I started thinking. Would Brad remember what happened when he changed back? That was the one thing I never could figure out. I was also scared for John. What if he somehow figured out that it was a werewolf that had jumped out at him and not a big dog? I was scared out of my wits.

When we got to the hospital, the nurse just told us to have a seat and wait our turn. So we sat. And again, it was awkward. It surprised me that they didn’t take us immediately. I mean it was a hospital. Not the dentist’s office.

“Um excuse me,” I said, going up to the front desk.

The lady looked up. “Yes?” she said, cracking her gum.

“My friend got attacked by something and he really needs to see a doctor,” I told her.

She blew a big bubble and it popped in my face. “I’m sorry, but we’re kinda busy at the moment. You need to wait,” she said.

“But can I just---

“Wait,” she said.

Sighing, I walked back to my seat and plopped down.

“Nice try,” John said.

“Thanks,” I mumbled.

And thanks to the rude lady behind the counter, we had to wait extra long. But once the doctor called us in, I felt better. Until the rude lady made me mad again.

“I’m sorry, you’re going to have to wait out here,” she said with a smirk.

“Nah, I’m good,” I said, trying to get past her.

“Are you any related to John?” she asked.

“Well no, but---

“Then you have to wait out here,” she said.

I growled. Then getting an idea, I smiled. “Oh that’s quite alright. I understand. I’ll wait,”

“Thank you,” she said.

I went back to my seat. And concentrated.

Mrs. Loud Gum Popping Rude Lady, I thought to myself, You’re about to be frozen.

Yup. I stopped the clock. And it’s not actually all that hard. I just concentrate, and somehow I do it. I don’t get it, but it’s fun to do. Hehe. So anyway, the clock was stopped. And the rude lady was in the middle of blowing a bubble. I just opened the door and I was about to go through, when I looked at the lady.

“Who’s waiting NOW?” I asked her.

Of course, she didn’t say anything back. I laughed and walked till I found John and the Doctor. The Doctor was in the middle of saying something when I stopped the clock so his mouth was open a little bit and John was just paying attention. I took a seat against the wall and unfroze the time.

“…….so it doesn’t look too bad,” the Doctor said. (I still have no clue what his name is)

“Oh that’s good,” John said.

John noticed me then.

“Ummmm…….” he said.

The Doctor turned around.

“Excuse me, when did you get here?” he asked me.

“I’ve been here,” I said.

“No you haven’t,” John said.

I looked at him and nodded, hoping he got it.

“Ohhh wait. Yes Dr. Richardson, Tiffany was here,” John said.
