"What's that supposed to mean?" Ashlyn looks at Four curiously. He now has her full attention.

Four shrugs. "They have a visiting day, so that we can show you around the factions and the city. I was thinking that maybe my friends and I could give you a quick aptitude test and maybe even put you through a few initiations."

"You can do that?"

"Yeah. We're supposed to show our families what we've been through, right?"

"True. Are you sure, though? I mean, you don't have to or anything-"

"Ashlyn." He cuts her off. "I want to. You want to go through initiation. I bet everyone'll be in on it. It'll be good for us, trust me."

"Okay." She smiles, the first time that she has in front of him. "But if I screw up in my fear landscape..."

The corner of Four's mouth lifts up in an amused grin. "You'll be fine. If you're anything like Tris, you'll be quick, too."

Tris drops into an uncomfortable chair in a California airport. Why did they separate her and Tobias? It's not like she has any living family members besides Caleb, anyways. She sighs and taps her boot against the ground. Where is Tobias now?

Pennsylvania. She reminds herself. On the other side of this country. Zeke and Uriah are in Louisiana. Marlene's stuck in Alaska, while Lynn and Shauna are in Minnesota. Then there's Will in Wisconsin, Al in Massachusetts, and Christina in freaking Georgia. And where is she? California. Southern California. About as far away from everyone she knows as she can get.

Except Caleb. She's stuck with her traitorous brother. Of course. Why is she always the unlucky one? Is it because she's Divergent? Or just because fate hates her? She doesn't know. She wishes she did. It would make this a whole heck of a lot easier.

But no. She's Beatrice Prior, the girl that never gets anything easily. She pulls out a book that one of the people had given her in the car. The Hunger Games, it was called. They gave her the two sequels, too. She flips open the book and starts reading.

"Caleb and Beatrice Prior?" She uses a random reciept on the chair next to her to mark her page before looking up. A lady in a gray suit and black heels walks towards them, her hair pulled back in a tight, dark brown bun. "Hi, I'm here to take you to where you'll be staying for a while." Her smile is forced and fake.

Caleb smiles and starts talking to the woman, but Tris just shoves her stuff into the black backpack she'd brought from Dauntless and follows the lady and Caleb. Where are her friends when she needs them?

Oh, that's right. Not with her.

A/N: Sorry about the short chapter. I've realized that not a lot of people are reading my fanfics. Hmmm....

Anyways, here's chapter 3! This fanfic'll probably be only like 20-30 parts, since it's just kinda like a whatever thing. Is it good so far?

If you have any suggestions for what happens next, message me or comment. I'm running out of ideas!
