A/N: Ashlyn's skirt should be on the right, and her shirt is in the external link.
Will glances over his shoulder for the fifth time since Zeke found Tris and Four. He notices Edward, Uriah, and Zeke doing the same. Every time he looks, he sees nothing, though. What the hell?
The hairs on the back of Zeke's neck stand on end. He feels like they're being followed, but he never sees anything when he looks back behind him. He looks back again, and still doesn't see anyone. Whoever-it-is is seriously trying to keep them from seeing them. Of course, that isn't too hard with all of the shadows.
Thankfully, they get to the Chasm quickly. The girls are in a tight circle, fussing over something. Probably Ashlyn. Will shakes his head and leans against the railing, and Uriah and Zeke stand with him. After a few minutes, Tris and Four join them. Tris looks left and right, then leans in close to the guys.
"On the way here, did you guys feel like you were being followed?" She asks quietly.
"Yeah." Will says.
"But no one was there." Zeke and Four say at the same time. They stare at each other for a minute before grinning.
"Dude, that was awesome. We're like, psychic or something." Zeke gives Four a high-five.
"Actually, that was technically only by chance. It's impossible for a person to be 'psychic'." Will says, then starts to launch into the technicalities of it and such.
Tris rolls her eyes and holds up her hand, telling Will to be quiet. "Please excuse Will's Erudite tendencies. Apparently, he has no memory of transferring to Dauntless." They all laugh.
"Okay, if you losers are done, we would like to show you Ashlyn." Myra says in a half-taunting way.
"Just shut up and do it, Myra. I'm not getting any younger." Tris replies, right on beat. The two girls smile at each other.
"Okay, so Ashlyn did put up a fight. She's just as stubborn as Tris-"
"-Am not!" Ashlyn cuts Christina off.
Christina rolls her eyes. "Anyway. We actually convinced her to wear a skirt. Shocker, I know. But we did it. And we got her to wear some eyeliner. No, Four, the skirt is not ridiculously short. No need to murder us." The girls step aside, revealing Ashlyn.
Her hair is untouched, some black liquid eyeliner lining her blue-gray eyes, hiding the gold ring around her pupil and making her eyes completely silver. She wears a simple black and white vertical striped shirt. It's button-down, but is tied up so that it isn't too big. It sits right on her skirt, which is all black, except for a few parts, which have white crossbones on it. She's wearing simple ballet flats, and her nails are black. Other than that, though, she looks like herself.
"And I actually like the clothes they forced me to get." Ashlyn assures Four. "They only got me a dress or two, a few skirts, some tights, a few shirts, some jeans, some shirts, and some shoes. Nothing too scandalous." She gives him a mocking grin.
"Well, at least they didn't corrupt you." He laughs.
"Asshole." Marlene says, smacking him with the bag that must have Ashlyn's things. She then lets him take it.
"I didn't think you would corrupt her, Marlene. Just the others." He smirks at the other girls.
Ashlyn skips over and hugs him. "So, what did you and Tris do?" She raises her eyebrow suggestively, teasing him.
"We slept." Tris smiles at her.
"Ooooh. And you thought I would wear something scandalous. You actually did something." She laughs evilly. Then she leans in close to them. "Please tell me I'm not the only one that feels like they're being watched."
"You're not the only one." Tris replies.
"Thank God." Ashlyn says. Her eyes scan every shadow, and then they land on one. She moves as if suddenly possessed, walking towards one of the shadows. Now everyone is watching Ashlyn with silent curiousity, wondering what she's doing.
Tris catches snippets of what she's saying. "You can come out...they don't bite- too much...oh, come on, no one's gonna...Just come on!...aren't you supposed to be Dauntless-born..." Ashlyn walks back towards the group of teenagers, and then two forms pull out of the shadows, trailing not too far behind her.
The first girl has her hair in two long, blonde braids that rest on her shoulders. She wears a white blouse, a black pencil-type skirt, white tights, and black knee-high boots. She and the other girl are about twelve. The other girl has straight black hair, a green streak in the right side of it. She wears all black, and no other color- black shorts, a black tank top, a black zip-up hoodie, and black low-top sneakers.
All Black stands with her hands in her hoodie pockets. Her hoodie is zipped up to the top, and she looks at everyone indifferently, nodding at Marlene. "Who are you?" Shauna asks.
"I'm Celia." Blondie says, smiling at them. "I'm from Candor. Twelve years old."
"And you?" Zeke raises his eyebrows at All Black.
She shrugs. "Dauntless. Thirteen."
"Name?"
She rolls her eyes. "Kee."
"That stand for something?" Zeke crosses his arms over his chest.
"Yeah. Kienna. You got a problem with it?"
"Definitely Dauntless-born." Uriah mutters.
"Funny," Kee snaps. "How the two that were Stiffs haven't said anything, and they're usually the most curious."
"I know you two." Tris says.
"No duh." Kee snaps.
"Kee." Ashlyn says in a warning tone, and Kee rolls her eyes.
"When the Erudite attacked Candor, you were looking for the Divergent. You stepped on their little fingers, and I flinched a little. You told me to run." Celia informs her. "You saved my life, pretty much. I would've ended up like poor Max."
"Who?" Tris asks.
"Max. Maximillion Cohol. The boy that got shot by that Dauntless leader."
"Ex-Dauntless leader." Four corrects her.
"Same difference." Kee gives him a Look. Her eyes are the exact same color as her hair streak. "Eric's still Eric, and he's still a horrible creep."
"True." Tris nods. Three more girls appear, one in Erudite blue, one in Amity red and yellow, and the other in Abnegation gray.
"He shot my parents and my little sister." The Abnegation girl says. "I'm Alexis."
"And I'm Felicia." The Amity says. "The other Dauntless shot my aunt and uncle. My parents died years ago." she shrugs, like it doesn't bother her.
"I'm Sera." The Erudite says. "My family died in the fires that you guys set on the hospitals in our faction. No hard feelings, though."
They talk for a while, Kee throwing in a sarcastic remark every now and then. Then she looks down at her black cell phone that she somehow snuck in. "Shit. It's six. This place closes at nine, and my parents wanted me to meet them at seven."
"Same." Sera, Celia, Felicia, and Alexis say. They run off without another word.
Ashlyn looks at Four. "Um, my parents said to meet them in Abnegation at 6:30..."
She and Four share a Look, both of their eyes wide. "Could we make it?"
"If we sprint and the train's there, then yeah. If not, we're screwed." He replies.
"Well, we'll all come." Shauna tells them. "Let's go." They all just stand there for a minute, then they take off for the tracks.
