A/N: No reaction to Peter/Lacey in the last chapter?

Well then...

The next morning, everyone exchanges gifts. Tris and Tobias leave early, since according to him, he needs to go to his cousins' house too.

Tris holds his hand while they drive. It's like three in the morning- their friends are early risers- and there's almost no one on the road. It takes around two hours to drive from Philadelphia to the Leasons', so they should be there before Ashlyn and Bryn wake up.

Tobias smiles. "Well, we're stuck together for a while in here."

Tris grins. "That we are. What do you want to talk about?"

He shrugs.

"You know what we haven't talked about since before the simulation?" She asks. "Well, I don't know if we've ever talked about it, actually."

His eyebrows pull together. "What?"

She bites her lower lip. "The future."

"Meaning?"

She sighs. "Getting married. Having a family." She blushes. "Sorry if it's a little too soon. I-I just-"

"Tris." He smiles. "Do you want to get married?"

She lets go of his hand, twisting a ring around one of her fingers. "Well, yes, of course. But I think I'm too young, and neither of us have a real job yet-"

He laughs. "I didn't mean immediately, Tris."

Her cheeks turn pink, and she looks at her hands in her lap. He reaches over and takes her hand, turning his head to kiss her knuckles. He does it quickly, without taking his eyes off the road. "We can, if you want. In a few years."

She nods in agreement. "I want to have a normal relationship with you first. I don't think this counts."

He grins, glancing over at her. "We'll figure it out, Tris. I promise."

"You're not going to let me leave you so easily?" She teases.

He shakes his head. "Nope. You're stuck with me until the day you die. And then in the life after this one."

"Good." She says. "I wouldn't want it any other way."

Ashlyn is awaken by her sister jumping on her yelling something that sounds something like, "FOUR IS HERE!" Again and again.

Ashlyn groans and rolls over. "Five more minutes." She mumbles.

"NO!" Bryn shouts. "IT'S CHRISTMAS MORNING!"

That gets her up. Ashlyn jumps out of bed and pulls on her gray sweatshirt, which- ironically- matches her gray sweatpants. She hurries downstairs, Bryn right behind her. Of course, along with their 'tradition', Ashlyn and Bryn can't open any presents until their mom takes pictures. Then they open their presents. Ashlyn got books- as usual- while Bryn got a bunch of other things.

Ashlyn also got some stuff for The Fault in Our Stars, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones and a few other books she's read. She hands Four and Tris their presents, and they both undo the colorful wrapping.

Tris smiles when she sees what they got her- a silver charm bracelet with a gun, a knife, and a heart on it. Tobias got a framed picture of him, Zeke, Shauna, Lynn, Lauren, Uriah, Ashlyn, and Bryn in Animal Kingdom.

He smiles. "Thanks."

Ashlyn almost forgot that they'd never gotten gifts before. Almost. And that they'd never celebrated Christmas or New Years. "You're coming for New Years, right?" Bryn asks.

Tobias nods and ruffles her hair, which is 'fluffy'- as Bryn says- from sleep. "Of course."

Ashlyn hugs him tightly. "Merry Christmas." She grins.

"Merry Christmas." He hugs her back.

Tris drops onto the couch with Tobias, smiling. It took them at least an hour to get to their apartment, most of which was spent stuck in traffic. Tris doesn't think that the other drivers appreciated the fact that they were kissing whenever they had to stop for a long period of time, but oh well.

Tobias slides a hand through Tris's hair and kisses her. Tris grins, tugging at his T-shirt jokingly. "I swear, we're the only virgins in our group of friends." She says quietly.

He smirks, trying not to laugh. "We can change that."

She laughs. "Are you flirting with me, Tobias?"

He raises an eyebrow. "I have no idea how to flirt."

"Neither do I." She grins. "It just sounded good."

He smiles and shakes his head. "So you just used a word that you have pretty much no idea what it means?"

"Pretty much."

He chuckles. "You, Miss Prior, are strange."

"Not quite as strange as you, Mr. Eaton."

"Point taken." He grins and then kisses her.
