Finally, The Pain Is Gone

Everything was peaceful, and the sun was shining rather brightly. I shaded my face with my hand and looked up at the fluffy clouds that were surrounding the bright, burning sun. I wiped the sweat from my forehead and looked back down at my feet. They looked quite small, even with my white boots on. I looked at my surroundings. I was sitting on an empty, wooden bench that was painted white. I looked ahead of me at the trees that were shedding their orange and red leaves. The leaves slowly floated down to the lush, green grass. Everything was so beautiful, and the lighting was amazing. A car drove past me, making the isolated leaves on the road fly up and catch the wind. It was really windy, and the clouds had covered the sun, making everything grow slightly darker.

I inhaled the air and let it back out. A nearby street light flickered on and off, revealing a stray cat. Without thinking, I called the cat up on the bench beside me, and carefully placed my hand on its head. I pulled my hand down its body and grabbed onto its tail. The cat hissed and jumped away from me, running off into the distance. It grew foggy and cold as the clouds grew gray.

My side began to hurt and I noticed blood seeping through the thin fabric that covered my torso. I touched it with my shaky hands and shivered as the blood stained my fingers. I looked around me and noticed Kan, who stood there smiling. He soon disappeared from existence. I felt my side being torn open, and more blood seeped through the white shirt. Blood was everywhere, what was happening to me?

I called out for help but no one was around to save me, I called for everyone that I could think of. I fell to the floor and cried out because of the pain. My voice echoed back at me, taunting me, reminding me of how I had no one. I coughed up blood as the pain finally stopped. Was I dying?

I laid on the floor and the fog covered my body like a blanket. I closed my eyes and tears ran down my cheeks. I saw everyone I had called out for earlier, before the open wound stopped hurting. My mother, my father, Tom, Raina, Kevin, Conner, and Jessie, all who were smiling widely. They all began to laugh. I began to laugh with them.

I calmed myself down as the fog escaped, leaving me in isolation. I yelled into the blinding light that was once again shining down on my dying body. I whispered to myself, "Just let me die, I don't care anymore, I don't want to live anymore." Everything I whispered was a lie, I didn't want to die, I did care, I wanted to live forever. I took the last bit of energy I had in me and raised my hand to the sky, and as the energy disappeared my hand had dropped back down to the ground, I slipped away from reality, or whatever my life had become.
