“Yep, yep.”
I watched Edward pace back and forth as he talked on the phone.
“Ok.”
It was doing my head in.
“Ok, thanks.” He hung up.
“What was that?” I asked tilting my head to the side.
“One of my “friends” saw what happened at the hospital.”
“And?” I sat up right in my couch.
“They didn’t see Quinn there but they did see a man throw that gas canister into your window.”
“I was on the third floor.” I said shocked, “Are you sure he threw the canister threw my window?”
Edward nodded.
“That’s what they said.”
My eyes widened with surprise.
“Did your “friend” see anything else?”
“They said they saw the Joker stagger out the back door and away from the hospital.”
I sighed.
“So who knows where he could be by now.” I slumped back down in the couch. “any news from Tim?”
A pained expression came over Edwards face.
“He was one of my best, and Mark was a new recruit.” I heard him mutter. “No the last message I received from Tim was from this address.”
He passed me his phone.
“1008 B West Chelsea Hill.” I read out.
I stood up and headed to the door.
“Where are you going?”

“If there’s a chance that Jonathan’s there then that’s where I’m going.”
“No you’re not.”
I shot daggers at him.
“Not now anyway you can hardly walk.”
I tried to walk away but to prove Edwards point my knees wobbled and almost collapsed from underneath me had I not been supporting myself with the wall. I turned back to the Riddler and smiled sheepishly.
“See look -”
I cut him off by waving my hand and hobbled back to the couch and took the TV off mute.
“Hello everyone!”
Quinn was hanging upside down from a trapeze with a smile on her face.
“As most of you may be aware Gotham General has a little incident last night.” She grinned as she flipped off the bar, landing lightly on the floor. “Tada! I am sorry for that inconvenience. I had to find my Joker after all the sooner he’s found the sooner all your loved ones I have will be back with you.”
She smirked.
“Since the Police aren’t doing anything.” She began to pace back and forth across the view. “I did find Joker. He was in Gotham General guarded by the police, as well as their trained pet.”
Quinn moved out of the shot and the camera sloppily panned after her.
She stood in front of a glass window leading into a dark room, Quinn’s hand moved and lights in the room turned on revealing a small room with the men, women and children; huddling as far away from the window and door on the far end of the room as possible.
My stomach dropped, I searched for Jonathan but I could find him in the room of faces.
“You see these faces? These people?” Quinn continued, “They have until tomorrow night until their fate is decided. The police have until midnight tomorrow to give me what I want.” She was yelling, “And if I don’t get what I want then all these people will die. There have already been two casualties in this war.”
Two men in clown masks walking into shot dragging two people behind them; I recognized Tim. He had a gaping hole in his chest with old blood all over him. The other man, he looked like he was just a boy, had a smaller hole in his chest from where he had been shot in the back.
I felt like I was going to be sick. Edward clenched his fists, piercing his skin with his nails.
Quinn looked at the two dead men sadly and shook her head before looking back to the camera.
“Don’t let that number go any higher.”
The video ended.

I ran to the bathroom and reached it in time to throw up. Edward’s hand was dripping blood from between his fingers and onto my clean floor.
“Let me see your hand.” I said breathlessly after I had deposited what little food and bile I had in my stomach into the toilet blow.
Edward didn’t respond, he just shook his head.
“I will make her suffer.” He clenched his fist, “I will make her regret ever breaking out of Arkham.”
All I could do was watch.
I’d never seen him like this before.
And it scared me.
