Georgie's POV
"I have to be somewhere in a few hours so you can't stay long" I turned away from the door once I closed it and looked at the three teenagers in front of me. Gwyneth was wearing some old, worn out black jeans and a dark purple flannel shirt; with an ugly heavy metal band t-shirt underneath, both damp from the rain outside. Michael was also dressed in the same kind of style, black jeans, a flannel shirt and big black boots, as was the other boy next to Gwyneth; I think his name was Calum? But their style was vintage, sort of a 90's trend, I gave them credit for being brave enough to leave the house like that every day.
"Where are you going?" Gwyn started to make small talk. I could tell by everyone's faces that they were curious about my new life now, and I couldn't really blame them. I know that they still see me as an important person in their lives and I might as well value their company while it lasts. "Oh, just out for coffee" I grinned, directing them to the kitchen. "With who?" Michael said rather abruptly. Everyone turned and looked at him, like he had crossed some sort of line. We entered the kitchen and the three of them sat down at the counter, before I flicked the kettle on. "A friend" I laughed, taking out mugs from the cupboard. "George" Gwyneth sighed, and I turned round to see them all staring at me. "What is it?" I scrunched my eyebrows at them. "Come and sit down" She nodded to the bar stood opposite them. I backed slowly away from the kettle, letting it boil and sitting down in front of them. "We want you to be able to talk about everything that's happen, not just act like this is normal, because it's not" She moved her hand across the table to it was just about touching mine. "How can I talk about it when I don't remember?" I looked between all of their concerned faces. "Then let us tell you, the truth about everything" She reassured me. The kettle boiled, but I didn't get up, I nodded and took a deep breath. Hopefully, this would be the end of it, one last tragic reminder of who I used to be. "You were funny, smart, slightly aggressive, strong, confident and kind. You were a great friend, and our lives were so perfect, we were one big family" She smiles, but it was obvious she was about to cry. "What am I supposed to do?" I frowned. "Come visit us in Australia some time, we can take you to all your favourite places, maybe things might start to come back to you" Michael looked into my eyes, and I swear I saw some kind of beach. The sky was dark and the waves crashed against the dark sand. I blinked and looked away suddenly, shaking my head. "I don't know if I'm ready for that just yet" I mumbled.
"Georgina" My mother's voice made us all jump and turn to the doorway. She wandered in, in a dark green dress, walking towards the counter and looking down at mine and Gwyn's hands touching. "I didn't realise we were having guests today" She sneered at them, as I quickly took my hand off the table and down on my lap. "She can have whoever she wants round" Gwyn glared at her. I was confused why they all hated her so much. "What's going on?" I looked over at Michael and Calum, who remained silent. "I'll tell you what's going on George, your mother is a manipulative and controlling psychopath, and you should get as far away from her as you can" She stood up from the table and watched as my mother towered over her in her huge high heels. "Don't listen to these delinquents, I told you to stay away from them for a reason" She looked over at me quickly for continuing her staring competition with Gwyn. "I think you should go now anyway, I'll have to leave in a minute" I stood up as well, standing beside mother. "No, please George, don't let her do this" She pleaded. "You should all probably go" I sighed and looked down at the floor.
"She abused you" Gwyn blurted out, instantly covering her mouth afterwards. "That's why you moved away, that's why you used to dress like us, that's why all of this is happening" She panted. Everyone looked at me in absolute horror, and all I could do was stand still, with my mouth slightly open. "You're lying" I whispered, shaking my head. "You all came here to feed me lies, to try and get me to go back to the way I used to live. But, you know what? I like how I am now, I don't want that life anymore and I don't want you. So, if you could all leave now, I have some new friends to see" My voice got louder and louder as I ended the sentence, slightly surprised by my outburst. Gwyneth, Michael and Calum looked at me in shock, but my mother smiled, putting her arm around my shoulder and squeezing my arm. "You heard my daughter" She smirked. Gwyn suddenly stepped forward and swung her hand across mother's face, making a loud slapping noise and causing her to collapse down on the floor. She stepped forwards and leaned over her, her hair was long enough for the ends to dangle just above my mother's face. "This isn't over" She spat in her face, before walking away, taking Calum and Michael with her. I rushed to help my mother out and then ran to the front door, where only Michael stood and everyone else had gone already. "Until we meet again Georgina" He gave me a long stared until he soon shut the door and the three of them had gone.
"Come here love, let's watch tv before you go and meet Josh" Mother came and stood beside me. I nodded and turned away towards the living room. I think it's defiantly time to move on now but this time, it would be for good.
