Georgie's POV

"Ashton?" I wasn't sure if I should be happy or concerned to see him standing in my doorway. Gwyneth looked at me alarmingly then back to the man stood in the doorway. Much had changed since I saw Ashton at the wedding; his hair was long, a bit less curly but the ends were tucked under his ears. He had this smile on his face, as if he was looking at a childhood, he was pleased to see me, something I thought I would never see again. "Hey" He said softly, pushing past Gwyn and jogging over to me. He picked me up and gripped his hands around my waist and spun me around. I laughed into the nape of his neck and put my arms around his shoulders. "It's so good to see you" I exclaimed, as he put me down back on the floor. "You too" He nudged my shoulder.

Gwyn pushed in front of him and glared at the both of us. "What the fuck is going on? Why are you here? Where's everyone else?" She yelled, chewing at her black painted fingernails. "I sort of overheard your phone call a few days ago and when I figured out what was going on I told the guys and got on a plane straight after" He shrugged.

"But that makes no sense, if you told them where you were going, surely they would be here too, Calum would jump at the opportunity to see me for a few days" She sighed, turning away and resting her head against the wall. "What about Michael? How did he react?" I looked away from Gwyn and stared at him confusingly. "He said he didn't care, and persuaded Calum that Gwyn wasn't going to be there, that's why I'm on my own" He frowned. I turned around and held the doorframe of the living room whist I hung my head. "He doesn't care" I mumbled to myself, processing everything that had just happened. "These fucking idiots" I looked up and saw Gwyn storming into the kitchen and taking out her phone. Ashton and I both stood in silence as we listened to Gwyn scream at someone on the phone, at first I thought it was Calum, but she spoke to them like she had no respect for them, and didn't care about what they thought. So I assumed it must have been Michael.

Calum's POV

"Hello?" I smiled as I answered my phone and sat down on the sofa. "Don't you 'hello' me and act like you don't know what's going on" She growled. I sighed and rolled my eyes. "Do you want to speak to Michael?" I turned my head and signalled to him as he was sipping a cup of coffee. He came and sat beside me as I took the phone away from my ear and rested it on the table, putting it on speakerphone. "I'm here" Michael sang, smirking into his coffee cup. "Don't play innocent with me, asshole. Why did you tell Calum that I wouldn't be in England? My best friend's fucking dad died and you think I'm just going to lounge around the house doing nothing?" She shouted at him. I raised my eyebrows and looked at him intriguingly. "Why are you trying so hard to stay away from the person you love?" She continued. "If Ashton can be here for her after everything the two of you have fort about then what on earth is stopping you?" I began to agree with what she was saying, why would he lie to me just because he didn't want to see her? "She never bothered to go to Karen's funeral, so why should I bother going to her Dad's?" He mumbled. "Are you being fucking serious right now?" She laughed, but I could tell she was about to scream her head off at him, I don't think he realised that yet.

"The reason she never came was because she promised Ashton to never come back if you ever hurt her again, and you did. But now, things are different, you don't drink, you haven't had an incident in over a year, you are back to the person you were before, the one she loves. You still love her and she still loves you, this is the only chance you will ever have if you want to make things right again. If you don't come to the funeral then you will lose her forever, and I know that you'll regret it even if it is only to say everything you want to before you two finally cut ties with each other and go your separate ways" When you start to think about it, Ashton has always had something to do with the problems the two of them have had to face in their relationship. Maybe this was his plan all along? Maybe he would rather sacrifice his career than see the girl he has always secretly loved slip away from him. Michael ran his fingers through his hair and thought hard about what Gwyn had just said. "I don't know" He groaned, his voice sounded undecided, but I think I could already tell what he would choose. "Well you better make up your fucking mind, to me it seems like you've been indecisive on whether you want to get serious with her since her accident. You need to choose, stop waiting around for a reason to not be with her before there really is" She said before hanging up suddenly.

The room was quiet again and I wasn't sure how things were going to continue after Gwyn's harsh but true words. He was staring at the coffee table the phone was on, if only I knew what was going on in his head. "So" I broke the silence and he snapped his head towards me and blinkers  a few times. "I think we should start packing" He smirked, jumping off the sofa and running off into his room.
