Chapter 36

Chris and I were better than ever. We became more into each other the second time 'round. It may be due to the fact that we only had each other to depend on in LA or the fact that we had a nice break from each other na nakatulong sa relationship namin when we eventually got back together.

Chris helped with work, overseeing the day-to-day activities and management of the restaurant at ang sabi nya, he's also learning some stuff sa actual restaurant operations in a bigger scale.

I was checking my emails sa office when I saw an email from Ron.

Si Ron, nabuhay...

Before I opened it sinabi ko na agad kay Chris yun. "Ron sent me an email," sabi ko, full disclosure, wala akong tinatago and I didn't care. It was a surprising thing that happened and I was sharing to my boyfriend that an ex sent me a message. Wala lang, nonchalant.

"Oh? Anong sabi?" sabi at lapit nyang umakbay sa'kin.

"I haven't opened it."

"Open it."

Hi Chloe,

How are you?

I heard you're in LA? Hope we could see each other again.

Ron

"Hmmm, okay," sabi lang ni Chris shrugging it off. Anyways the email didn't say very much.

I've definitely moved on from Ron. Wala na talaga 'kong nararamdaman para sa kanya. Nag-email sya pero wala, walang effect.

Chris continued to help me with work. He audited everything I did and he double checked financial statements with me. I knew he was getting pressure from his parents to back home because of the holidays so he bargained New Year with them. Gusto nya sana na till New Year's magkasama kami pero ayaw talaga ng mommy nya na naintindihan ko naman of course.

Mas busy ang Santa Monica Boulevard restaurant namin sa West Hollywood kaya dun kami mas madalas lumalagi. It was busier as Christmas was just 'round the corner. It was three days before Christmas.

"Knight," I called Chris. I changed King to Knight dahil sya ang lagi kong tagasalo, my Knight in Shining Armor. Cheesy, anyways. "Look, I'm really missing ninety-six dollars and twenty-three cents. San napunta yun?" tanong ko showing him my balance sheet.

"May na-miss ka siguro. Let me see," he said and studied what I was doing. Ilang beses nya nang ginagawa yun, checking what I do, doing stuff for me, et cetera, pero para sa'kin that day, I found him sexy. His arms were flexed dahil yun ang sumusuporta sa kanya sa table leaning towards me, his abs were visible and protruding from his sports shirt and his ass are tight!

He smiled when he realized I was checking him out. Nag-taas sya ng kilay sa'kin, "Gwapo ba?"

Kinurot ko ang pisngi nya. "Sooobra!"

Hindi rin mawala sa isip ko na uuwi na sya night of the 25th. Sa February ko pa sya ulit makikita sa kasal ni Christine. Ano ba 'tong pinasok ko ulit? Mas mahirap ata. Mamimiss ko sya!

"Let's go home?" bulong ko sa kanya. I nibbled on his ear lobe.

"Tara! Hayaan na natin yang nawawala," sabi nya. Tumayo sya at hinila ako palabas hastily getting our things on the way.

"Chloe, someone's looking for you," sabi ng Restaurant Manager dun na si Tyrone na napaharang sa'min paglabas namin ng office. Chris wrapped his arms around my waist kissing my head.

"Who?" tanong ko.

"Ronald I think," sabi nya.

Si Ron?
