"Tell me why we decided on doing this?" Diane asks as she stomps her way up the snowy hill.
Adolfo stops and offers her his gloved hand. She gladly takes his hand to pull herself up. "You said this would be fun, Diane," Adolfo says.
"Okay yeah but it's freezing!" She shouts as she kicks the snow.
"Aren't you going to Canada tomorrow though?" Marisol questions her.
Diane sighs and rolls her eyes, "don't even remind me of that place."
I place my hand on my waist and raise an eyebrow, "do you really hate Canada so much?"
"No, I just hate how cold and snowy it is there. I can handle this weather but over there it's a whole different thing!" She explains.
"But you're grandma really wants to see you," Adolfo says as he picks up some snow.
"And I really want to see if she's okay. This is the first time in five years that I go to see my grandma. I swear when I come back I'll no longer be half Canadian. Imma be a full-blooded Canadian woman."
"Oh, there's no way that will happen you look too Puerto Rican!" Adolfo jokes gaining him a glare from her.
All of a sudden a snowball appears and hits Adolfo straight in the chest causing him to fall on top of Diane. She screams at him and tries to push him off of her. Laughing I grab Adolfo's hands to pull him up. "I could use some help!" I shout.
Feeling hands on my waist I take a deep breath in and pull. The hands also pull on me helping Adolfo stand up once more.
"Thanks, guys." He says as he pats the snow off of his black puffy jacket.
"I swear I saw my life flash before my eyes." Diane jokes as she stands up. "Who threw that snowball?" she asks.
Dante and Marisol giggle as they rush over to us. "Sorry, Diane!" Marisol says with a flushed face. "I meant to hit Dante."
"Damn you have some strong ass arm, Marisol," Adolfo says as he inspects her arm.
She takes her arm back, "It was an accident okay!"
Hector crosses his arms as he watches Adolfo tease Marisol. Rolling my eyes I whistle to gain their attention. "Okay, we came here to hang out one last time before Diane leaves tomorrow."
"Yeah, So everyone try to get along for her sake," Hector says backing me up. I raise my eyebrow in agreement.
Adolfo and Diane burst out in laughter and high five each other. Hector and I exchange glances in equal confusion. "Omg, I almost peed my pants!" Diane squeals as she wipes a fake tear.
"What's so funny?" Marisol asks looking between the two.
"Serena seriously we don't have to fake the fact that we are so buddy buddy. For my own peace of mind, I can't do that mushy stuff." Diane says with a raised eyebrow.
Adolfo nods his head, "You know extremely well that we aren't that type of friends. We show each other love by insults and violence at times."
"Okay but I want to have a proper goodbye!" I say as I stomp my foot in the snow. "All of you know I hate snow! I only agreed to this cause Diane wanted to!"
Diane smiles and holds me tightly. "I'm not dying you know?"
I laugh as I wipe away some stray tears, "Not yet,"
"Group hug!" Adolfo shouts causing everyone to envelop us in a hug. Diane screams in laughter and annoyance.
"I hate you, Adolfo!" She screams.
