"Serena!" My ears perk up at the sound of Diane's voice. Looking up from my English notebook I turn to face her as she ran towards me. "I came as fast as I could to tell you about the chisme!"
I roll my eyes at her, "I don't want to hear any gossip,"
"Okay, but you really need to hear it from one of us." She starts off. I raise an eyebrow as I wait for her to finish. "I don't know how to break the news to you..." She nervously plays with her manicured fingers.
"Well?" I ask trying to make her spill the beans.
"Did you tell her?" Marisol asks as she walks towards us.
I slam my notebook closed as I give them a pointed look, "you both better tell me what's going on before I lose interest. You both know how horrible these chismes can be."
Marisol gives Diane a quick glance before taking a step closer to me, "nobody knows the effects of gossip more than me but Serena..."
"Look, it's about Sebastian and Vanessa!" Diane says ripping off the bandaid. "They have made it official that they are together. Even though four weeks ago he was—"
Marisol elbows Diane to stop talking. "Look, it's shouldn't matter cause we already knew that," Marisol says with a small smile.
Tears threaten to fall down my face, "yeah, I already knew that but it still hurts." They both try to hug me but I gently push them away. "I know I told myself I wasn't gonna cry anymore or let him affect me but I simply can't ignore all the pain in my heart. Let me go get some alone time."
"Serena!" Marisol yells after me. I just need to leave. My breaths become shallower as I tried to stop the tears from flowing down. I sit down on a bench in front of the library. I tried regaining regular breathing, but couldn't.
"Fuck," I whisper to myself as a tear fell down my cheek. Looking up my eyes land on Vanessa and Sebastian standing close together. A mere inches away from a kiss. That's it, I'm not doing this. All I need right now is to go home.
As I make my way to the office I accidentally made eye contact with Sebastian. My eyes watched as he slowly pushes Vanessa off of him. I sped up my pace not wanting him to catch me with tears in my eyes.
I was almost to the office when a hand shot out and grabbed my elbow, "Serena," Sebastian says to me in a pleading voice. "Can you please face me so we can talk?"
I quickly wipe away any tears I had and turned to look at him with the most emotionless expression I could muster. "We have absolutely nothing to talk about."
"Serena I'm sorry..." he says trying to get something out of me.
I cross my arms, "what are you sorry about?"
"I'm sorry I didn't tell you I had a girlfriend." He apologetically says, "I know it was wrong but I can't lose you, Serena."
"You must be outta your mind if you think that's gonna make me come running back to you. I don't care if you break up with her or not. One thing for sure is that we are done." I angrily say.
Sebastian sighs softly, "I'll give you anything you want Serena just don't leave us like this. We have something special."
"All I wanted was for you to want me...only me," I explain to him with tears in my eyes.
"Serena..." he softly says as he reaches out to touch me.
"No!" I yell at him as I avoid his touch. Anger flowing through my veins as tears run down my face. "Stop acting as you care about me!" I yell.
