As we walk into the ballroom of the hotel. I spot Marisol and Dante dancing already. Elbowing Diane I motion her eyes to look at the cute couple dancing. Walking towards them we both tap on Dante's and Marisol's shoulder.
Marisol turns to see us, "Omg, when did you get here."
"Just right now actually," Diane answers as she gives Dante a greeting hug.
"So, how did it go with my Padrino?" I tease Dante.
Dante smiles nervously as he recalls that moment. "It's wasn't as bad as I thought it was." He confides. I feel sorry for him, Marisol's father can be intimidating with how dark his eyes are and how he unconsciously frowns. Yet both Marisol and I know deep down he's a humble person with such a goofy personality.
"Did he threaten you?" Diane asks with a smirk.
"Come in now!" Marisol intercepts. "That's my father you guys are talking about."
I laugh already knowing the answer, "he threatened you by saying he'll shoot you down."
Dante slowly nods his head. "And many other things."
"Don't worry it's because he's scared of Marisol getting hurt again," Diane reassures him.
"What about the shotgun?" He asks all three of us. We all glance at each other before shrugging.
"My father could be joking about owning one..."
"Or he could actually have one," I finish her sentence.
Diane smiles, "with his personality, we will never know."
We all laugh at Dante's expense. "Excuse me but does this cherry group have room for one more?" Adolfo says suddenly appearing next to me.
Turning my head to look at him my mouth instantly opens in shock. Usually, Adolfo wears laid back clothing or daring outfits but seeing him in a classic black tux has me speechless. "Oh my, who are you?" I joke as I take in the tailored suit with his hair gelled away from his face.
"It's just to show you ladies that I can clean myself up." He proudly says.
"Your mom forced you didn't she?" Diane clarifies for him. Adolfo's proud demeanor cracks at the mere mention of his mother.
"I hate my hair!" He complains to her.
Diane takes his arm and leads him to the bathroom. "Geez, I swear you are a child." I overhear her say to him.
Dante and Marisol excuse themselves as they go back to dancing. Bored I walk over to the snack table and bite a strawberry. My eyes roam around for Sebastian but I can't seem to find him. Maybe it's for the best or else I would get jealous.
"Serena, I've been looking for you." I hear Hector call out to me. I snap out of my haze and lock eyes with Hector's warm eyes.
"Hector!" I squeal as I embrace him tightly. "You look so handsome in the suit."
He smiles sheepishly, "thanks,"
"What is it you wanted?" I ask him as I throw away the stem of the strawberry.
"I was wondering if you'd want to dance with me." He asks.
My heart for some reason skipped a beat when he asked me. "Okay," I nervously say as I take his hand.
He laughs as he leads me towards the crowd. The song changed to a slow song catching us off guard. "I guess they want us to slow dance." He jokes.
"Seems like it," I reply. Hector is a great dancer, he always makes me feel light on my feet. He twirls me around and pulls me close to him.
"You look beautiful today." He says to me with a serious face. His eyes look at me with a tenderness that I've never noticed before.
