"Let me help," Hector replies with a stern look. My heart stopped beating as I stood there frozen.

"What?" I ask with a confused look.

He nods his head, "you heard me, Serena. Let me help you forget him. You can use me."

"Hector don't be silly," I say, trying to shrug it off.

"I'm not kidding, Serena. If you want to get over that bastard, then use me. I'll be there whenever you want him to be there." He says with a serious tone.

I shake my head, "I'm not going to do that to you, Hector. You deserve more than that."

He walks closer to me and grabs hold of my hands, "Serena, if it's you, then I don't care. I told you I would do anything for you."

I grab him and hold him tightly to me. "You mean way too much to me to use you like that, Hector. You are my favorite person. I would never do anything to jeopardize what we have." I whisper to him.

Hector pulls away from me and gives me a weak smile, "I just want to see you happy again, and if that means using me, then so be it." He rests his forehead on mine and lets out a deep sigh.

I look into Hector's warm brown eyes. "I want to give you a chance, Hector. I really do, but I don't know if I'll ever truly be over that kind of betrayal." I honestly tell him.

"I don't plan on stopping unless you tell me otherwise." He says to me, looking sincere. I was touched by his words that I knew he's honest.
"That's why I am willing to be the one who helps you forget him."

"I told you I don't want to use you like that," I say as I grab his arm.

"Serena, I love you more than anything in the world." He replies as he tucks a strand of my hair behind my ear. "Don't worry about me."

He's an idiot. A complete idiot if he thinks that I would allow himself to be belittled like that. I have to put my foot down. No way am I going to make him my rebound. He deserves more than that. So why do I find myself kissing him? I felt an electric spark go down my spine. The feeling of his hands on me, and his scent makes my knees buckle. I have never felt this before. Not even with Sebastian. This intoxicating feeling that makes butterflies erupt from my heart and makes me want him even closer to me.
So close that we cease to be two completely different people.

Hector pulls away for air and looks at me shocked, "wait,"

I stare at nothing and collect my thoughts. I couldn't believe my body did that! I'm also confused by what just happened. What an idiot I turned out to be. Totally ignoring myself, I went and kissed him even though my head was against this whole rebound idea. "Sorry, that was a mistake. We shouldn't have done that." I say as I pull away from him.

"You are probably right," he says as he softly chuckles. We stand in silence for a moment and lean against the lockers.

"I'm not ready for a relationship of any kind," I remind him.

"I don't want to push you into something you don't want." He says to me. "We can forget about what I said."

We stand once again in silence as my mind flickers back to the kiss we shared. I look at him, "you deserve a better person than me."

"We can't control who we fall for Serena. It's not like I snapped my fingers and chose you. One day I just woke up and realized how much you mean to me. It all started with a smile, and that evolved into your actions. I don't just like you cause your pretty; no, I like you as a person. Cause I know, there is more to you than just a pretty face. I know the real you." He says with so much emotion that a single tear falls down my face.
