"Do you like it?" Dante asks me as he proudly holds the handmade sign.

I smile as I place my hand over my heart. "Yes, it's perfect!"

He laughs as he rolls it back up, "you know I'm asking Marisol and not you, right?"

Rolling my eyes I mockingly laugh at his little joke. "Yes, I'm aware."

"Don't worry, Sebastian must have a plan to ask you soon." He says as if I was worried he wouldn't ask me.

"I'm not worried sweetie," I playfully answer. "Plus it's still the middle of March. We still have time."

Dante puts the sign into the trunk of his white car and sighs. "Yeah, but I want Marisol to know now that I plan on asking her to be my date."

I smile as I lean on his car. "Isn't it a given that she's gonna say yes?"

He closes the trunk and looks at me, "yes, but I'd rather get a verbal agreement than assume."

"Wow, aren't you a man of the century." I jokingly tease.

"Shut up," he says as he laughs. "Oh look, here comes your tutor."

Turning around I see Hector making his way over to us with books in his arms. "I wonder when this tutoring will end?" I whisper to Dante.

"Maybe when you get an A." He replies.

Hector smiles at us and we both wave hello.

"Are you ready?" Hector asks me.

I deeply sigh, "as I'll ever be.."

He offers me his hand and together we walk over to my house. Entering Hector gives my mom a quick greeting before I drag him up to my bedroom.
"You dragging me is not gonna make this a quicker session, you know?" He says to me.

"I know, but that means I get to go on my phone and see Dante's promposal." I explain to him.

"Maybe if you did all your homework and actually studied then you'd be there to actually witness it." He guilt trips me.

Throwing my door open I huff in annoyance. "I hate it when you have a point."

He slips past me and sets up his notes on my bed. "I'm always right."

"Don't push it." I playfully warn him.

"What's today's subject? We got English, Spanish and Algebra two."

I internally groan at the thought of the English homework. "How about History!" I add.

Hector raises his eyebrow and gives me a look, "that's literally the only class you have a high grade in so that's a hard pass."

"Fine, I need to write a poem or a short story about Romeo and Juliet," I inform him. Unzipping my backpack I take out the book and hand it over to him.

"Romeo and Juliet? What is this a freshman English class?" He half-jokes.

I take back the book from his grasp, and glare at him. "We could choose which books we wanted to work on and I thought this would be an easy A."

Hector takes the book from my grasp and grimaces. "I hate this book.."

"Well, I want an A," I reply.

"There are other great works out there that deserve more recognition than this overworked classic." He says as he shakes the book.

I felt my phone vibrate and my eyes widen in excitement. "Oh! It's about to go down!" I shout as I take my phone out of my back pocket.
