Hmm...yes a river of chocolate milk. If only I had a cookie to dunk into said river. My ears perk up as I hear ringing from a distance.
Slowly I place my hand over my phone and pick up the incoming call, "hello?"
"Prom is literally in four weeks!" Diane shouts over the phone.
I pull the phone away from my sensitive ear. "Diane, Do you know what time it is!?!" I snap at her.
"Yeah, it's seven." She says as if it's not a big deal. I huff in annoyance.
"Don't tell me you woke me up just to complain once more about the fact that nobody asked you to prom?" I scold her.
"No, I'm way over that," she says. "That's why we're going together."
"What a shitty way of asking someone to Prom." I sarcastically say.
Diane sighs, "if I remember correctly Sebastian still hasn't asked you out so you are technically free for that night."
"Don't even remind me or else I'll get mad all over again," I warn her as I jumped out of bed.
"Well I was sleeping and it dawned on me that we don't have a single dress for prom. How could we forget the most important aspect of prom—aside from getting a date—is a beautiful gown!" She shouts in just one breath.
Is this really why she woke me up for? Because of a damn dress? "Diane—"
"Get ready cause I'm coming to pick you and Marisol up for dress shopping. Okay, Bye!" She quickly hangs up on me without even hearing me out.
What just happen? I just stared at my phone confused as hell, then slowly I walk towards my bathroom for a quick shower. As I quickly finished, I moisturized my whole body and quickly dried off my long hair. Walking around my closet in only my bra and underwear I slip into my favorite ripped jeans and a navy blue tube top. Since its the middle of spring I put on a thin black jacket. Thinking hard about how long imma be in the mall I decided to stick with my black sneakers.
All that I needed to do was to brush my hair and put on light makeup. Oh, and spray on some perfume!

"Hello morning." I greeted my mom as she cooked breakfast. In the Dining room next to the kitchen my dad sat at the head of the table facing the TV so he can watch a soccer game. To the left of him was my baby sister Melody in her high chair eating applesauce.
"Why are you all dressed up?" My mom asks me as she places a plate of eggs with sausage links in front of my dad.
My dad looks away from the game and stares at me, "and why are you awake at this time? You usually wake up at ten."
I cross my arms, "wow, what a rude way to greet someone in the morning."
"What do you want?" My mom asks without skipping a beat.
Sitting down on the other side of my father I smile sweetly at both of them, "can I go out to the mall with Diane and Marisol?"
"Didn't you guys just go to the mall?" My father asks as he turns his attention back to the game.
"That was three weeks ago and this time we have to go out for prom dresses," I explain to them. My father shook his head and started eating. My mother places a plate of pancakes in front of me with two sausage links. "And I will also need some money."
My father pauses as he heard the word money come out of my mouth. He puts down his cup of coffee and stares at me. "How much?"
I plant the sweetest smile I could muster up and immediately my father groans in annoyance. "Dios Mío..." he mutters to himself. My eyes follow his hand as he reaches into his pocket and hands me his credit card. "I'm only doing this because your grades improved!" He explains himself before handing it over to me.
