A gust of hues struck me as I swam through the Void; various streaks of blue and purple painted a blank canvas before my eyes, while red and white splotched the dark picture and blinded my eyes. It was frighteningly beautiful and stomach tumbling all at once, and my cheek-burning smile permanently lined my face the whole ride.

Kate pushed forwards, the low gravity allowing her to bob in the atmosphere, as did I. Once more she scraped through bits of space--tattering the magnificent painting before me--revealing a polished, marble architecture fantasy of a castle; Aliamigize, School of Claw.

My grin was still gaping as I looked back at Katy. "It's been quite a while since I've traveled by Void, and I forgot how AWESOME it was!" I enthused, springing over to her.

"Well I go through in every darn day, it gets boring," she grumbled. I gave her a disapproving glance.

"Aw, c'mon! Have a little fun!"

I thought back to the old times--before Mum had taken me in as her own--when Aliamigize was the only place I could hold closely to my heart. At that time I was only six, still innocent, fragile, when the world was my oyster; I could hold my dreams high for everyone to share, and no one could stop me from achieving them.

The school would send me on missions through the endless Void with Katy, a very opinionated twelve year old that always had a plan--no one could back her down from her imagination; in my oyster world, she was my pearl. She was obliged to become close to me as I was to her, but somehow I had charmed her--I have that effect on people.

Even after I was adopted by a retired Claw, our knot of a bond still remained untie-able. She would always appear at my doorstep every Friday evening for a nice cup of chamomile to catch up. Mum didn't mind, in fact, she loved that I had a friend, since the other kids thought I was strange at school. I gave a pleasured sigh at the idea of those fragments in time.

"So? Anything new?" I asked my companion.

"Oh! They redid the dragons' stables, why don't you give them a look?" she mused, acknowledging my love for the scaled beings. My hazel eyes burst ablaze with life.

"I'll get to see Gumdrop and Sparkle!" I enthused, hopping from my spot. Katy gave a nonchalant laugh.

"Oh yeah, let me get the keys to the stables. I heard Mary Jane had them last." Katy nodded, dashing off into the towering palace that seemed to almost scrape the surface of the sun.

I regained my center of balance from the churning Void, rubbing off some of the excess grime from my stockings. Brushing back a thick strand of my milky brown hair, I took in the wondrous sight that loomed before me; a gleaming castle, aged with wide cracks running through the pillars and ivy that intertwines and circles down the marble walls.

In the air, a girl with lengthy black hair rode a petite dragon, doing barrel rolls and loop-de-loops to show off to the other kids--a thin boy eagerly dashed with his pet bird, a beautiful creature with blooming feathers of all colors. Another small group was riding unicorns, soothing them as they stroked their white hair as they trotted along the emerald plains. This is why I loved it here.

After a slight minute I heard jingling, a crackle of metal slapping together as Katy griped to the brass keys. Once she had gotten my attention, she chimed them again to make my face brighten farther than the max.
