"Oreo Evans is Spi!"
I squealed with delight. A new devision! I have never been in Spi before! Well, I guess putting me in Fli was a big mistake last time...heh heh.
"Hi Oreo!"
"Sup!"
"Oreo! How's it goin'?"
I beamed as all of my new friends showered me with affection.
"Oh! Thank you dear!"
"Yes, you too!"
I sat down next to a very little girl, around eight. Her dark hair was cropped neatly, so short it barely touched her neck. Her face was pale, and burst with brown freckles. She picked at her chicken and peas.
"Hello! I'm Oreo!" I enthused.
The girl stopped picking at her food and looked at me. Her eyes were the ripest blue I've ever seen, brighter than the sky.
"Jace Rose," she mumbled quietly. It was almost as if she was ready to spring with that thin structure of hers.
"Oh, hi Jace!" I beamed, giving her a friendly nudge.
She seemed surprised as I nudged her, and I thought we had something for a second. And I was way wrong.
Jace pulled out a dagger and held it at my neck. The blade was freshly sharpened.
"Go away," Jace growled.
"Um, okay...bye Jace? See ya soon?"
"GO!" she screamed.
I scrambled to the other table for Spi, plunking down next to two chatty boys. They both had dark hair and nimble limbs.
"Hi!" I said to the taller one.
Both of them flipped around, showing off their identical brown eyes.
"Hello!" one said cheerfully.
"I'm Ben, and this is my brother Cohen," Ben waved.
They both stuck out a hand and I shook both eagerly. They gave each other a high five.
"If you haven't noticed, we love to talk," Cohen said.
"Yup, we're basically the opposite of Jace, our sister," Ben shrugged.
"Oh! She's your sist-"
"Yeah, she is not someone you wanna mess with," Ben interrupted.
"Uh huh," Cohen agreed.
"Do you have other family mem-"
"Oh yes, the Roses are a big family," Ben continued.
"Yup, there's Elliot Rose. He's in Fli," Cohen babbled, "Oh! And Raina Rose! She's in Coal. And Jamie Rose, also in Coal."
"And-"
"Yes! I get it! Your family is big!" I shouted.
"Uh Huh!" Ben said.
"Yerpledoodledoo," Cohen said.
"Well then," I sighed, "I'm Oreo."
"Nice to meet ya Oreo!" Cohen said.
"My name is Ben, and this is my twin, Jace. We have a big family!" Ben beamed.
Ugh. This is going to be a long day.
