Chapter 17
Today was a long day. I haven't seen Crash since yesterday night. I sigh as I jump into my bed. Evie and Sam have noticed I've been distant. I stare up at the ceiling, waiting. I don't know what for. Suddenly, a knock at the door startles me. I get up and look at the time. My eyes widen at the time. I came here around 3:30 P.M. But now it's 7:00 P.M. I rush towards the door to open it for whoever was waiting outside. I opened the door and looked around. Nobody. A gust of air blew by and I looked up to see that it was about to rain. Odd. I walk out the door way to feel the chilly breeze, instead I kick something over. I look down and immediately retreat. I stared at the ground with wide eyes.
"Flowers," I whispered. Who knew that those were the flowers. I liked around but there was no one in sight. It was the same exact flowers my dad would bring home. As I looked around, Evie decided to pop up.
"What are you doing and what's with the flowers?" She asks as she points towards the bouquet. I shrugged because I don't know what's happening. Evie bends to pick the bouquet up and she inspects it. She pulls a card stock squared paper. Her eyes moved back and forth as she skims the card. I look at her with wide eyes, unable to move from my spot.
"How?" I managed to say but it came out as a whisper. She stares at me and I look at her.
"You need to tell-" she says but I shake my head.
"No!"I yell and she drops the bouquet. She holds her hands up like she was surrendering.
"Ok, ok geez. First of all, do you know what's on the letter?" She asked with a cocked eyebrow and her arms crossed. I, slowly, shook my head as she hands me the card. I look down and my breath hitches.
Dear sweet Aralynn,
Just so you know I watched you admire these flowers so I wanted to give you a bouquet. I watch you from a far and I know your little secrets. I may tell at any minute. If you hesitate to come, you are dead meat. I want you to meet me I the trail in the woods when the sun sets. So, what's your choice? Make a decision and I'll be waiting.
Who would send something like that and I shake my head and back away from the bouquet. I drop the card as if was acid to my hands. "You ok?" Evie asked. I shook my head and looked up at her.
"I have to go," I say but it comes out as a whisper. Her eyes widen and she shakes her head.
"No! You can't. The guy or girl is a psycho," she said, fast. I sigh and looked up at her.
"Yeah, I know but they are going to do something that will hurt me and everyone who knows the secret," I say, looking away.
"How do you know they actually know? They could be lying!" She throws her hands up in the air. I stand up and look her dead in the eye.
"How do I know they aren't lying. What if it ruins you or a teacher? I can't let that happen!" I shout and she stumbled back. She looked away.
"Fine! Go but I want us to be back to strangers. I can't deal with a loss," with that, Evie walked out of the room as I stared at the door with wide eyes. Why? I take a deep breath and look towards the welcoming bed. I have time to sleep before I have to go. I dragged my feet towards the bed and fell asleep.

I woke up, groggily, from my bed and stretched. I looked around but Evie wasn't here. I sigh as I got out. I went towards the dorm door and out the building. I walked towards the forest and went straight. As the sun started to set, I reached the path. There was a figure standing there. I squinted my eyes to see who it was. The wind blew through the trees, making a chill run through me. My heart pounded as anxiety ran through me. The figure turned and what surprised me the most was that it was...
