Chapter 29
I see Crash's figure walk towards where we once stood. "Guys?" He called out. Talia slipped out her spot and I tried to get down but Dallas held me where I was. He picked me up as I squirmed in his grip."What are you doing? Let me go," I said, confused by his actions. I heard steps approach our way and saw Crash peek over.
"What are you guys doing?" Crash asked with his eyebrows drawn together, in confusion. I tried to pull out of his arms but it only got tighter.
"Stay still, you're going to fall," Dallas grumbled.
"On what?" I shrieked and he sighed as he walked down from our spot. Crash followed his movements and he put me down.
"On the damn floor. Geez, calm your tits woman," he mumbled and I heard Talia giggle. I cocked an eyebrow at his comment.
"I think I could handle it," I argued. He put his hands up in defeat and looked at me.
"Ok! Ok! I won't help you next time. I was trying to be nice," he muttered, trying to defend himself. I saw Crash rolled his eyes and Talia let a little giggle out. Crash's head snapped at her and glared. That only resulted in her giggling about something even more. We looked as the siblings taunted each other. Wow. That was a sight to see.
They snapped out of it and Crash looked at us. "Well, let's head inside. Shall we," he grinned but something was hidden under that grin and we all knew it. Hell I saw it a mile away but I didn't know what it was. I nodded, realizing that my stomach was full on rampage. I was starving and my face went red when I realized how loud it was.
We walked into the home as the bright lights stung my eyes. Well sue me if the lights hurt because we were out in the dark for a while. Dallas pulled out the cookies and put it on the counter. I went straight for the cookies but as I reached them, they weren't there. I looked around, frantically for the cookies when the guys burst into laughter. I looked at guys and saw Dallas holding the box. I glared at him and ran for the box. "Woah calm down," he chuckled.
"Don't get in the way of my cookies," I warned as I tried to take the box. He used his height against me and I kept jumping. "Dallas," I said in a deadly low tone. "Give me the damn cookies," I ordered. He shook his head.
"Nope, eat real food before you eat these," he told me as if I was a child. He waved a finger in front of my face. My eyes followed his finger and just before he put his finger down, I bit his finger. He let out a shrill scream. I giggled because his manliness seemed to disappear for a second. Dallas glared at me while I gave him an innocent smile. His face, immediately, contracted into an evil grin and he looked at the highest cabinet, which I can't reach. I shook my head and dared him to move.
"Dallas, I swear if you..." I trailed off when he placed the cookies on the cabinet. I grumbled as I went to it and tried to get the cookies. All of them watched me, in amusement. I looked at them and flicked them off before smiling. They completely forgot that even with my height difference, I could still reach it. "I bet you guys forty dollars that I can reach the cookies," I grinned. They looked at each other and grinned, doubting that I could get the cookies. They missed one vital detail, I know how to flip up there. It might break something but it gets the job done.
"Deal," Dallas and Crash said, at the same time. I looked at Talia and she shook her head.
"I wouldn't doubt you could get that," she said, in a small voice. I nodded as I bit my lip. I thought, for a second, as I calculated the possible amount of space I needed. I went to the spot by the oven and I ran for speed as I took a flip and maneuvered so it was able to flip in the air to get to the right height. I heard something drop and shatter on the floor. Oops?
"Hey!" I heard Crash yell behind me. Right when I was in reaching distance of the cookies, I snatched it and landed on my feet. I heard the crackle of the glass under my feet. Thank god I landed on my feet and I had shoes on. That wouldn't have been a pretty sight. I turned around and smirked.
"So my money?" I grinned and they looked in horror. They started snapping out of their trance and slumped in defeat. Crash stood there with his arms crossed. Oh I'm in for it this time. "Sorry Crash?" I apologize. He only shook his head.
"Not paying you and I don't think you need any cookies tonight," he pointed out. I pouted and batted my eyelashes.
"Why?" I asked as he cocked an eyebrow at me. His eyes went down towards the floor and I followed. It was a mug that shattered into pieces. "Fine," I grumbled and Crash looked at me with satisfaction. I rolled my eyes and looked at them. "Seriously guys, I'm hungry," I sighed.
"Says the one who took up more energy from the flip they did in the house," Dallas grumbled.
"Oh suck it up you big baby. You're just mad you didn't win the bet," I teased. His face turned red and Talia started laughing. Crash stayed quiet for some reason. His facial expression was dark and unreadable.
"Well it isn't even possible for someone to be able to have that high of a skill," he defended himself.
"Well I just did," I argued.
"Not possible. You're different, you somehow were able to do something that defies people's ability standards," he muttered to himself. "I thought you were just weak, when I first met you," he said.
"Hey!" I said offended. He looked at me and smirked.
"Just stating what's true," he teased.
"Well, why don't I take my weak ass self and punch you?" I said, aggravated.
"Well, if you're weak, you won't even get a hit," Dallas smirked.
"Wow, how arrogant of you," I mocked and he shrugged as he walked off with a plate of food. I turned to see Crash and Talia just watching me with raised eyebrows.
"What happened to you guys when I was gone?" Crash asked I shrugged at his question.
"Honestly, nothing. He's just being an ass," I muttered. They both shrugged and we walked out into the living room. That night was a good relaxing night, oddly. It was better than my few recent nights and for that I thought everything would be just fine. Can't say I wasn't wrong.
