The song on top is for Crash because it's about his first love. His story will come later.
Chapter 23
I looked over to Evie, who laid there. She looked pale. I walked towards her bed and sat beside her. I took a deep breath. "Hey Evie, can you wake up? You're the only person who hasn't left or betrayed me," I whispered. I looked at her and gave her a humorless chuckle. "My parents left me and they guy I thought was ok left me to a crazy bitch," I said, dryly. I sighed in frustration. I was useless and allowed her to get shot. My own sister. A door creaked open and my head turned over to the door. Crash walked in with a bouquet of flowers. My hands clenched by my side and looked at him in disgust."I came here to see how you're doing," he said, softly. This caused me to laugh and my eyes narrowed.
"You wanted to see how I was?" I asked in disbelief. He looked away and nodded.
"It's just-" he said but I cut him off. I was angry, no more than angry I was totally pissed.
"No, you can't make excuses. You almost got my sister killed. She's the only family that I have left after my parent's disappearance," I said, harshly.
"Sister?" He asked. I nodded without looking at him.
"You're an ass. I thought you were a decent person but you sold me out to that bitch. You do know she called the CSP. Oh boy, what they'd do to have us both," I laughed at the thought. He looked at me in confusion.
"Why would they want you and Evie?" He asked. I looked at him and lifted an eyebrow.
"Why would you even sell me over to Beverly?" I asked. His jaw clenched and his fist curled up.
"I asked you first," he said with gritted teeth.
"I skeptical of you. You might sell me out again," I smirked and his eyes became stormy. He walked towards me and pulled me up. He pushed me against the wall. His eyes had whirls of waves swirling in them. His face came closer to my face. His breath washed over my face and I knew he wasn't there. I shivered in fear but also I wasn't scared. My body was conflicted, that's for sure.
"Don't say anything if you don't know what you're saying," he growled. I flinched but I stood up tall.
"Well! What is it huh? What made it worth it to kill both of us?" I snapped. He backed away and his eyes widened.
"Kill?" He asked. I laughed because I knew he didn't know. Before he handed me over like a piece of candy to baby, he didn't investigate. You always investigate a person's history.
"Step one, you ALWAYS check why before handing over," I said dodging his questions. He shook his head and stared at me.
"Killed? What the hell do you mean killed?" he asked.
"I mean, my score it 2238 and they tried to clone me but something went wrong. Ellie came out as a result and we were supposed to be dead. CSP were here to contain us and slowly kill us as they experiment on us," I explain. He stumbled back and his eye were wide.
"That's impossible. The highest score was 600 and I barely have three-fourths of the highest," he whispered.
"Yeah and I was supposed to have 3000 but I was cloned with Evie so she has 762," I said, looking at her sleep. He bit his lip and I put my hands on my hip. "So what's your reason?" I cocked an eyebrow. He looked towards Evie and concentrated on her. His face held guilt and hurt.
"My parents... They're dealers and although they left me, they come back for more and more money. They are wanted by the police and they run until they suspect it's safe. They killed my sister and now they are more dangerous than ever. I work as a fighter and the school does not allow fights out of school. Beverly knew because she found out and my position in this school is threatened," he explained. "It's been bothering me but I want to ask you. Who dyed your hair silver?" He questioned, changing the subject. Confusion took over my senses.
"Silver?" It was my turn to be clueless. He gestured to his hair. I pulled a lock of hair and realized how short it was. It was a strand of get hair. Shock and fear took over and I ran to a mirror. I looked at my reflection and ran a hand through my curly locks of short grey hair. It had a light bluish tint to it. I sucked in a deep breath. What the fuck. Who said they could dye and cut my hair. They didn't do this to Evie. Well they dyed her hair by they left it long. What's going on.
"I-I don't know," I stuttered, unable to form words about my new hair style. He chuckled as I pulled strands towards my face.
"It suits you though," he said as if it made me feel better.
"That doesn't help," I snapped and he flinched. I sighed and walked past him. "I'm going to get air," I said as I left the room. I ran out as I realized what was happening. I was breaking down again. Why is it happening? I just made up with Crash. I knew one thing, deep down I didn't hate him. Instead I was pissed I met him. I know that I don't like this feeling what so ever.
