Chapter 22
"Mommy! Help! It hurts," I screamed out and they pushed a long, sharp needle through my arm. They had a helmet thing on my head. I gripped the chair's armrest. Tears went down my tear stained face. I hiccuped and wiggled around. Why is this happening? "Mommy, please," I hiccuped out. A wave of shocks enter my body and I screamed out in pain. Doctors held me down as I struggled out of their grips."Patient is losing consciousness! Bring the solution! We need it stat," they pressed down on my stomach and I screamed out in pain. Everywhere hurts. Why isn't mommy or daddy here? I was about to welcome the darkness when everything felt numb. People rustled by. There was noise in the distance. Everywhere was blurry.
"Patient is loosing blood! They need a transfusion," the doctor yelled.
The beeping echoed throughout the room. Echoes of screaming was everywhere. My eyes wanted to open but they were heavy. Then nothing. There was a slight pause or delay and I was somewhere else. It seemed like I was in darkness for forever. The darkness was like black velvet and felt warm against my skin. The faint humming sound killed me to sleep. I gave a big yawn and let myself go to sleep. It seemed like a great thing to do.

My eyes darted back and forth as I started to crack my eyes open. The rays of the sun was too bright and so I squinted and looked away. Something beeped and it was annoying. As my eyes adjusted to the light, I looked around and saw I was in a hospital. I looked down at my arms to see needles in my arm. My eyes widened and sweat started to pool out. I was scared of needles. I pulled them out and the beeping monitor flatlined. The nurses came rushing in and they stopped. They didn't say anything but started to push me down. All events of yesterday came to me. Panic set and my head darted around. "Where's the girl who came into me?" I asked. They tried to get me down but I resisted."She's in the next room," the nurse sighed. I relaxed, a little. Key word a little. That was until I saw them pick up the needle. I cowered towards the one who didn't have one. I shook my head.
"Please, no. I'm fine," I begged. The lady sighed and shook her head.
"Fine," she said in frustration. I looked at her, happily. She looked at me like a mental case.
"Can I see the girl in the next room?" I asked in a hopeful tone.
"No," she said way too quickly. I gave her a puppy dog, knowing that it'd make her uncomfortable. She fidgeted and rubbed her head. She, finally, sighed and grumpily agreed. I internally cheered and gave a wide grin. I got up from the bed and ran towards the room. I heard shouting and lots of shuffling.
"We're losing her," the voice shouted in the chaos. No it can't be. I opened the door and tried to rush in. One of the nurse's eyes widened and rushed towards me to keep me out.
"Ma'm, please go back to your room," she said. I sucked in a breath and prepared myself. I taught my self a little bit of Doctor stuff because that's what I was going to major in if I went to college.
"I can help her," I said and their heads snapped towards me and laughed. I rolled my eyes when they started to go back to work. Can they even take their eyes off the patient? I charged in and looked at the patient. I breathed a sigh relief when I saw it wasn't Evie but it was a girl about my build and height. She had wavy blonde hair, like me. Something oddly familiar about her. I couldn't place a finger on it. I was no about to let her die. The monitor started to speed up and I rushed towards the patient. What was the doctor doing? I'm pretty sure you're supposed to move them to the ER. "What's the situation?" I asked.
"Seizure," he said. I shook my head as he tried to give her CPR (the chest one not mouth to mouth). I grabbed the stabilizing needle. I shook, violently, as I handed to him.
"Into her vain," I ordered. He complied for some reason. The monitor started to slow down and went back to normal. He breathed a sigh of relief.
"Thank you," he muttered before turning and walking out.
"Wait!" I called out. He turned around and with a raised eyebrow, he looked at me.
"Where's Evie Taylor?" I asked and he looked at me as if I were crazy.
"Right by you," he deadpanned. My eyes widened as I looked at her brown eyebrows but blonde hair. He was right but why does she have blonde hair? What's happening?
"Ms. Cadwell," a voice called out. I spun around to see the head mistress standing there. "I know you are an elite fighter. It's one of the reasons why I asked you to attend. I knew the consequences and is why we must hide you with your sister. We have changed your identities. She is now Evie Aurora Day and Aralynn Naomi Williams," she said in a formal voice. I looked away and nodded.
"Thank you for not turning me in," I whispered and she nodded.
"Please get some rest before tomorrow. You are a transfer and no one will know who you are. I kept each of you first names, courtesy of your parents," she said and exited. I took a deep breath and let a shaky one out. Great.
