Chapter 13
Everyone started getting up and into position. Samantha sat there looking at me, nervously. "Should we start?" I asked, breaking our silence. She, meekly, nodded. I got up and went towards the shade. I didn't want to fight in the hot sun. I went into fighting position as she caught up."Uh..." She said but trailed off. I looked at her expectantly. "Can you teach me how to fight?" She blurted out. I looked at her, in surprise. "Cause y-you're a good fighter," she tried to explain. I was caught off guard and I shook my head to snap out of shock. She looked at me with wide eyes before saying," U-Uhhhh never mind. You don't have to," she stuttered as she talked.
"No, no. I'll teach you," I said as her head snapped up from the ground.
"R-really?" She asked in surprise. I nodded and she grinned. She looked like a child on Christmas Day. "Thank you. Thank you. Thank you," she thanks. I nodded at her with a soft smile.
"Although, I don't know how much I can help," I said. She shook her head at me.
"No, I know you are going to be a great teacher,"she smiled. I frowned and looked at her, playfully. I felt my mood rise once more.
"Hey, I'm not that old," I played around and her eyes widened. She shook her head, frantically.
"No! No! I didn't mean that," she shook off. She looked so scared. I started laughing and her eyes widened as if she was a deer caught in the headlights.
"I'm playing," I laughed. Her mouth went wide open and her cheeks went red in embarrassment. She pouted and made a humph sound."Sorry, sorry. It's just that your expression was priceless," I giggled and she stuck her tongue out at me.
☆彡Sweat was a thin layer upon my face as we exited the training area. Sam was tired too and but her breath was delayed because she was tired. As I headed to my class, Sam walked the other way. "Your class is that way?" I asked her and she nodded. I nodded and walked to algebra, Ms. Crankfield's class.
"Wait, Ari!" Sam called out and I turned around face her as she ran over. She tackled me with a hug. I stumbled back, in surprise. "Thanks," she smiled as she let go of me. I smiled and nodded at her as a sign of 'you're welcome'. She walked away and I walked towards my class. As I entered the class, the A/C hit me. I breathed a sigh of relief when the cool hit my face. the teacher looked up at me and a scowl was on her face. She had shoulder blonde hair and deep brown eyes. She looked about the age of forty and was about the height of 5'2". She was pretty to say the least. I looked around for a seat, in the busy classroom. Although class hasn't started yet, it was already filled. There was an empty seat left and I walked towards it. I heard a low grunt as I passed by the neighboring seat. I looked at the seat and saw Dallas sitting there. I took a deep breath and sat down.
"Hello, princess," Dallas called out. My head snapped towards him and see that he's smirking. I roll my eyes and ignore his call. "Oh, Ms. Princess and Perfect is going to ignore me after the stunt she pulled today?" he said, venomously. I clenched my knuckles and ignored him, again. "So she can't speak anymore, huh. I guess if i were her i would dodge me too since she has the worst score ever," he chuckled.
"At least I wasn't kicked out the school. Oh, and if I could dodge your hit, than you aren't so good after all," I turned towards him and smirked. His smirk dropped and his face went red. Everyone else was to busy in a conversation to notice us.
"You were lucky," he huffed. My smirk went to a sly grin because I knew I was about to prove him wrong."No, I wasn't. Your weakness in fighting is your speed. Even though you used to be the highest Guard, you are no longer one," I tell him. His eyes, slowly, widen and his face grew redder by the minute. For once, he stayed quiet. Thank god, peace.
"You are wrong," he whispered before turning away. Maybe I went too far. Guilt washed over me but I was also confused. What did he mean by 'You are wrong"? Well there's another question for me. They just keep popping up. I sigh in frustration. This is one hell of a year...
