Chapter 27

Dates and Family

*Caleb's POV* *Friday morning*

i wiped my sweaty palms on the cool material of my jeans as i sat on my bed waiting for the time i was going to go and pick up Skylar. She didn't tell me her plan, she told me a time and her dorm room here at the base. i could stop thinking of her silvery hair and her big grey eyes that some days look bright blue. her toothy smile that both intrigues and frightens, she has multi k-9 teeth and she looks both happy and sadistic. her pale inhumanly untouched by blemish skin and the hourglass figure of hers. she was perfect in every way, however no one at the school had fully trusted her because of the fact she came 2 weeks before Kylie and i, also the fact that she brought a pure blood werewolf with her, one with an alpha mark on her right hand. 

Kathryn, her best friend that came with her to the school, was beautiful as well. she had long wavy brown hair that she normally put in a bun for cheer leading. she has big brown eyes, not as big as Skylar but still noticeable. she had tan skin, she has a scar on her collar bone and she won't explain what it was from.

Cileen, the girl that was hanging out with them when i went to ask out Skylar, well, she's something else. she has raven black hair and haunting green eyes, she looks like she is around 15 but the way she carries herself and the way she acts and the way she dresses gives her a timeless sense. her skin is not pale but it's not as tan as Kathryn's. the are many guys at the base that flit and fond over her, but she gives none of them the time of day. the only people she seems to talk to is Skylar. i know Cileen is the one who killed my parents, but it was their choice, wasn't it? they made the deal and she followed through, it's not her fault. Kylie doesn't see it that way, she believes that Cileen is at fault.

Kylie doesn't seem to get the fact that if you want to see the truth in a situation you need to pull back and look at the bigger picture. our mother always told her that but i guess she never really caught on as to what that really meant. you need to find a different perspective to find the truth that you are tied to. Kylie will more than likely stay mad at Cileen, but the fact is that because we are gifted she can have complete control over us, if she needed us we would come no matter what. Skylar and Kathryn protect Cileen because she can't kill[little author's note, if you want to know more about Cileen, Kathryn, and Skylar read The Curse of the Gift ]. 

my thoughts were interrupted when i heard a knock on my door, i checked the time 11:37 am. i walked to the door and opened it Dustin was on the other side of the threshold. "What are you doing here? shouldn't you be canoodling my sister?"

"Whoa, watch your attitude." Dustin laughed. "this is my room too. i was here before you so scoot out of the way."

"what happened to your key?" i asked as i stepped out of the way.

"I broke it years ago and when this was my room, i didn't lock the door. " he said as he grabbed black jeans and a grey t-shirt. "I'm going out, if Kylie asks i'll be back later." he says and grabs his weapons belt.

"Wait. for one where are you going? and two why do you need weapons?" i asked following him as he walked to our bathroom.

"It's none of your business, and i recommend you don't follow me in here cause i'm about to strip." he says and i back up and he closes the door.

"will you just tell me where you're going?" i ask through the door and listen for an answer.

i heard a sigh and then, "I'm being called as a representative of the base to talk to the leaders of the Hammer."

"You're lying to me." i said.

"No, i'm not." he said.

"then you're not telling me everything." i said and the door flew open and Dustin glared at me.
