Fairy Tale Future
Dustin let me take a shower in his bathroom. He gave me his dark gray hoodie when I came out with a grey V-neck T-shirt, black jeans and black combat boots, I only did eye makeup and simple lip gloss.
"You don't have to go back there." He said as he handed me the hoodie. "You can stay here."
"That would be nice, but-" I said but was interrupted by Dustin putting his finger over my lips.
"No buts." He whispered.
I moved his hand. "If I'm gone what will stop John and Vickie from calling the cops on me saying I attacked them? Or even worse from hurting Caleb? He's my brother, he's not strong enough to protect himself. I will take every hit if it means he's okay. It's always been like that and it always will." I whispered resting my forehead on his and looking into his eyes.
"What if I helped him to be stronger?" Dustin whispered. He placed his hands on my waist.
"And how would you do that?" I pulled back looking at him confused.
"I could get him on the team and I could personally train him at the gym." Dustin shrugged. "Build up his mucsles and maybe you worry less. We could put our money togather, after a while with the new jobs you're getting, and we could get an apartment. All three of us could live there, and we won't be bothered by our families. We could be far, far away from all of this."
I smiled and kissed him. "We could make our own little fairy tale ending." He whispered against my mouth, and continued kissing me.
"Okay but for now let's get to school." I laughed and pulled away. I walked backwards towards the window. "Meet you outside." I climbed out the window laughing, I could hear him running down the stairs as I walked across the little piece of roof and jumped into the bushes for the second time that day.
He came out the door as I was walking away from the bushes. "You know, you really are something, Kylie." He said as he put his arm over my shoulders and walked me over to a black pick up truck.
"Is that a bad thing?" I asked as we were walking.
"No, deffinately a great thing." He said as he opened the passenger door and helped me into the truck. I watched him jog around the truck to the driver's side. He put his seat belt on and started the car and pulled out of the drive way.
"I didn't know you had a car." I said impressed.
"Yeah I got it before school started." He smiled. "It's what I used my pay checks for."
"Nice." I smiled, and we went to school in a comfortable silence.
