"See you tomorrow!" I shouted on my way out, followed by a wave from Eliza.
I started my stroll back to the apartment. It was nice and warm out. I was calm. Ever so often there was a breeze that cooled me a bit. Once, I got goosebumps, but besides that it was perfect. I took the time to look around. I was in no hurry. I only wished Ash was walking with me. Maybe we could go for a walk later tonight. He liked the night life more.
I turned the key and plopped on the couch. I shouted out his name. No answer. He must be getting the photos done for that guy. I opened a cabinet to find out what I could make for dinner. I wondered what he'd want. There's not much in the kitchen anyways. Maybe I'll run out. I turn and see a note on the kitchen table.
'I finished the photos today and turned them into the guy. He loved him. The point of the note isn't that, though.
I asked my mom to stay with them for a little while. I needed family time. I'm not sure how long I'll stay with them. It may be a long time. I would have told you in person, but my mom pulled up as I started writing this line. I left you the car. Rent is paid for several months. I'm sure you'll stay safe. Don't go crazy while I'm gone. I'll see you when I return. -Ash.'
Well that was shocking. Why would he leave? I get he wanted time with his family, but he could have at least said goodbye. What the hell Ashton?! You can't just up and leave without saying when you're coming back. I call Aria.
"Hey what's up?" She asks.
"Ashton went to live with his parents for some time."
"So you found the note."
"You knew?" I ask angered.
"He's been thinking about it. He didn't want to tell you till he was already gone. He just wanted to stay with his parents."
"But for how long?"
"Who knows? Probably awhile. He just wasn't feeling great. Listen I've got to go. See you soon-"
"Bye." I cut her off. So he wasn't getting better. He was faking it before he left and now he's gone for 'awhile.' Whatever that means. So I won't be seeing him anytime soon. So much for getting through and helping him. So much for gaining back what we started to lose.
