I walked back into the coffee shop, happy we got to talk. He gave me a peck on the lips before turning to get his car. Eliza was grinning at me. I could tell the teasing was about to begin. Fantastic.
"Where are you coming from?" She asks.
"You already know." I say and smile.
"How was it?"
"Lunch? Amazing. And I think we kind of figured out where we are."
"And that is?"
"Together. Together, but not sure what's going to happen next."
"Is that a good thing?"
"I hope so."
"Alright, so what's the plan tomorrow?"
"Tomorrow?"
"Friday?"
"Oh! I have a band coming. They're named Phox."
"Where are they from?"
"Seattle."
"Holy shit! Is everyone from Seattle these days?" She asks and I laugh.
"Apparently all the good musicians are."
"You guys got that right." Dan says and pulls a chair up to the counter.
"How's office life?" I ask.
"Fantastic and exciting." He says sarcastically.
"Awesome!" I say.
"What's with her?" Dan says and chuckles.
"She had a date with Ashton." Eliza answers.
"Good. I like the kid." Dan says.
"Good to know." I say.
"Alright, so Phox is coming tomorrow! Are you guys excited?" He asks, wanting us to cheer. We do.
"Yeah!" Eliza and I in unison.
"Great. Now get back to work." He says and pushes the chair into the table. He goes back to his office. Eliza and I work on cleaning the counter. It was a nice slow day.
