My Turn

So I finally felt like I knew what I was doing in San Francisco this morning. I had actually planned a band to have a gig at the coffee shop! They were called the Jinxes and I had heard one of their songs before. I was ecstatic to have them here tonight. They wrote great music. They only had a few songs, but after they played, they were going to stick around and hang out with everyone at the shop.

Dan decided to fund to build a real stage at the back of the coffee shop as long as we built after costumers left. Which meant the past three nights I've been working on finishing the stage with Ashton, Jacob, Aria, Eliza, and Eliza's boyfriend Sterling, who I haven't seen since my birthday. We got the job done and we all did a jump test on the stage around 6 times. We didn't want to kill our first musical guests. That would be a bad start.

The Jinxes showed up around 4pm to get ready and the show itself started at 6:30pm. We were opening the doors at 6. It was all planned out and I was very excited. Dan and everyone that built the stage was there already and when the band arrived, we were all extremely excited for the show tonight. I was mainly excited because I had organized and gotten it all put together in time. And I got to do it with my friends.

"Great job guys. Everyone. Thanks." I say and they all smile back at me.

"No problem. You're treating us to dinner tomorrow night, right?" Jacob asked and Aria shook her head. That guy was always hungry.

"Oh you are?" Eliza said excitedly.

"Sure. So dinner for one, two...six of us. Dan are you coming?" I ask and he comes out of his office.

"Nah. I have a date." He says proudly.

"Go Dan!" Eliza and I shout at the same time. He smiles happily and walks back to his room again.

The coffee house is packed by show time and I'm thrilled with the outcome. I'm in the back area, sitting at a big table with everyone. Ashton places his arm around me, as the band starts their set. Seeing they only have a few songs, they stop after each song and interact with the audience. Every person there is having fun. I accomplished something big. It was my turn and it was fun. No wonder Ashton likes showing off.
