And then he took it out. A knife.
"You are not the same person I knew when everyone left me. You are not the same person that laughed the summer nights away with Sara. You are not the same person Sara talked about. You are not the same person Javier," I said.
He takes the knife and points it out to me and starts walking forward.
"No Allison, people change. You have changed. You are not the little girl who would run care free around the barn. You are not the person who would beg me to help her ride a horse. You are not the strong girl everyone thinks you are. Like I said, you are a weak girl in strong armor that your dad gave you. One day it will become rusty and then you will be exposed to the world. The real Allison." He said each word and advances forward with his knife out at me.
"You are drunk Javier-"
"No Allison. I just need to do something I meant to do a long time ago: get rid of you." I hit the wall and he had the knife pointed at my throat, just centimeters away.
"What would Sara think? Do you really think Sara would want you to kill her sister? Guess what? Sara never loved you. She was eleven and had her whole life ahead of her. I took it away from her and I will forever live in regret of that but she never loved you."
"Stop bringing up Sara. Every time I look at you I see her. Your hair, your nose, your mouth, your voice, it's Sara. I love Sara. I hate you. That's the difference."
"Why do you hate m-" I asked but then get cut off.
"You go up the ladder, we'll go around back and watch the windows." I man yelled from below. Both of us freeze.
We hear someone walking up the ladder, more like running up the ladder if that's possible. Then a man came up with a flashlight.
"Freeze." It's not like we were moving in the first place. "I got them boys." The man yelled down the ladder.
"Alright you have the right to remain silent young man." The man, who I then assumed was a police officer said. He took the knife from Javi who didn't try and hold onto it. Then he handcuffed him. I slid down the wall and sat down on the hay. Another man came up and took down Javier.
"Young lady are you okay?" The man turns to me and asks.
"Yes." I force out.
"Some neighboring barn called the police because he heard a lot of yelling from this barn. Are you sure you are okay? We are going to take you to the police station."
"Yes, thank you. Could you possibly uh bring me there later? I would prefer to go to school."
"Oh uh yea sure. Tell me your name, age, address, and time to pick you up."
"Allison Carter. 15 sorry 16. I don't know my address because I am being moved into a new home today. I also have a football game tonight."
"Tomorrow morning? It's Saturday."
"Sounds good, okay thank you."
"See you then, I'll look up your address."
"Thanks" I said.
With that he walks back down the ladder. Why didn't he like make me come with him? Weird.

"Is coach having you play?" Jason asked.
"Yeah well it's me or the freshman JV QB." I said.
"So he's letting you play... Interesting..."
"Why is that interesting?"
"You haven't been here since... Last Tuesday."
"Yeah so?"
