it was jimins birthday today, and yoongi was flipping out. it was three in the morning, yoongi had already been awake for the past two hours, trying to come up with something for his boyfriends birthday. yoongi will admit that hes terrible at these kinds of things, because he never really enjoys them for himself. but he wanted to do it for jimin, he deserved it. well, actually, he deserved way more than yoongi could give him, but he was doing his best.
at around five in the morning, yoongi decided on just a simple surprise party, sending a quick text to all their friends to let them know. after he was finished, he snuck out to purchase jimins favorite flavored cake. he had already bought jimin a present weeks ago, so he didnt really have to worry about that. when he got back to their home, he was just in time to wake jimin up and tell him that it was almost time for his dance academy classes. after he sent jimin off with a quick peck and an i love you and of course, a happy birthday, he started to decorate.
well, he had to wait until jin hyung was there, because yoongi didnt know where to put the god damn balloons and confetti. but once they finally got the house set up, and put all the boys gifts on a nearby table, yoongi let everyone know that jimin should be there any minute. so they all halted their conversations and hid in various places, as yoongi hoped up to hit the lights before settling back down. after another two minutes of waiting, they all finally heard the door open. namjoon had to cover hoseoks mouth to keep his laughing silent, but jimin didnt suspect a thing.
"yoongi?" jimin said as he entered through the door. a confused look took over his face when he got no response, but he turned on the lights anyway. when he did, he was met with loud birthday wishes and sudden love tackles from taehyung, making him drop his gym bag to the ground. jimin chuckled as he thanked them all, returning each of their hugs lovingly and turning to his boyfriend. "did you plan all of this?" jimin smiled. yoongi blushed deeply, clearing his throat before saying, "i- uh- yeah- yeah, i did."
jimins smile grew larger as he jumped on yoongi, arms crushing him in a tight hug. "thank you, i love you." jimin whispered into the embrace. yoongi nodded, not really able to breath from the death grip jimin had on him. jimin noticed his struggle and let go, kissing him on the cheek in apology. "happy birthday, baby. i love you too." yoongi finally responded, after his breath became steady again. jimin sent him a smile again before the party went on.
then began the speeches. ah yes, the speeches. every year, each boy goes around and says something special about the person whos birthday it is. jin goes first. he cleared his throat and gazed at jimin, "jimin-ah, you amazing, you know that right? i know i give you a hard time about cleaning you house sometimes, but your doing a great job honestly. continue to work hard and just be you. saranghae, jiminie." jin finished with making many hand hearts and hugging jimin while the rest of the boys cringed in the background.
the other short speeches rolled along, each boy saying something similar, ending with an 'i love you, jiminie.' and a short hug. when the party finally ended, and all the boys said their goodbyes, jimin and yoongi both crashed on their small couch. "i- uh- i have something for you.." yoongi shyly broke the silence between them, earning a wide grin from jimin and a nod for him to go on. "its kinda small and stupid but- uh- yeah." yoongi mumbled nervously as he pulled out a small package with a pair of silver earrings inside.
yoongi always loved jimins ear pierces, so he decided why not get something pretty for him to wear in them? when jimin thanked him for the millionth time and hugged him, yoongi went on. "jiminie, let me just start with, happy birthday, my love. you mean everything to me. i cant believe your already a year older, but you will always be the same sixteen year old boy i met in high school to me. i love you more than anything, even myself, and i wouldnt hesitate to do anything in the world for you. im sorry i cant give you everything you want right now, but im doing my best. anyways, i just want to say, thank you. its a pleasure to be able to spend this life with you. and jimin, i think you were made for me. not only in this life, but everyone before and after. i will forever love you, even if it ends up with you not loving me anymore. i will never stop loving you." yoongi said in a steady voice all the way until the end, where he started to cry just a little.
by the end of his speech, jimin had tears slowing down his face and grabbed yoongis shirt by the handful to pull him in. "i will never-" jimin sobbed, "-never stop loving you. i dont need anything more than this, baby. i l-love you so god damn much." jimin cried, hands still clutching yoongis shirt. and once they had both settled down, yoongi fastened jimins earrings in for him before they headed to bed, just thankful for one another.
