My head buzzed, an annoying fly smacking around in my head. Despite the fact that I knew what I’d find there, I still can’t help but walk a bit faster and seal my lips tighter. They know now, maybe not everything, but they know where I came from. The horrors I faced and dealt with; had standing over me for the last couple years. At least I don’t exactly have to fane amnesia anymore.

My feet weighed about five more pounds than they had before we came across my birthplace. But they seemed to notice and let me walk ahead, keeping their distance. Even Sasuke knew better than to break my train of thought. The cold hilt of the gun strapped to my thigh kept me awake and alert when suddenly, I noticed a tiny puddle in the corner of the dry dirt road. Raising an eyebrow at the strangeness, I glanced back at Kakashi who seemed to subtly notice it as well.

The sun is so hot; how could there possibly be a puddle in the middle of a hot dirt road?

I let my fingers brush the hilt of the guns strapped to the tops of my thighs, one pistol on each leg. No one else seemed to notice the sudden presence behind us until two large men manifested from the puddles and charged at Kakashi, quick spiked chains twisted around him until they pulled and…

God, they can’t be that stupid.

That obviously wasn’t him…but they hadn’t noticed as Naruto gasped and exclaimed along with Sakura. Sasuke just stared, wide eyed and gaping at the fake black flesh that fell from the chains. The men were covered in tattered black clothes and wore strange spiked gas masks along with mechanical claws with purple poison tainting the tips. Panic was no longer an emotion I understood after what just happened, only calm and patient timing as Sasuke attempted to pin their chains to the tree, kicking them both upside the head.

It unfazed the men as they struck at Naruto then went after the bridge builder. I stood, crouched down, waiting for my opening as Sakura threw herself in front of the bridge builder. Sasuke managed to play hero and suddenly; my body moved, using my vectors to throw myself in the air above the man’s head and pulling the trigger, shooting him in the shoulder.

“Ahh!”

He jumped back, hand over the bleeding in his shoulder as he glared at me through his dirty spikey hair.

His partner reached around my shoulder and pressed his claw against my throat, the poison entering the wound his claws drew. I grunted, frustration clear in my movements, and shot him in the hip.

“You brat!”

I jumped back and round housed him clear across the face, throwing him to the ground from the impact. The other one, blood pooling from his shoulder and staining his clothes, came at me with his arm outstretched and eyes wide with bloodlust.

I laughed.

Launching out an invisible vector, I grabbed the back of his head and smashed it into the ground next to his wounded partner. I held them to the ground, standing over the two as my vectors held them down and pressed the barrels of my pistols against their foreheads.

I smirked over them, my unusually sharp canines protruding my bottom lip.

“You better think before moving or I’ll just have to pull this trigger and…Boom goes your brains!” I sang sweetly.

~Aren’t you a sadistic little bitch? I think I’ve been a bad influence on you, Lucy.~

I mentally shrugged at what she said, not really caring for once. I don’t care about anything right now and I really wished one of them would move so I could watch their eyes roll and the blood splatter…

Maybe you have been a bad influence, Lucille. But…I don’t mind.

“Lucy, I’ve got it from here.”
