Chapter Thirty - Nicknames

Halloween was probably the only time Dawn enjoyed most. It was supposed to be a time where all the monsters and ghouls could come out and blend in without being noticed. Any other day, she felt as if she stuck out like a sore thumb. She liked it, but Halloween was just a good excuse. The dark individual stared at herself in the mirror of the girl's locker rooms. She brushed back the hair hiding the left side of her face, annoyed at her image. She pulled the hair back and huffed; she shook her head.

"Dawn...What the heck are you doing?" The girl asked herself.

"You're trying out for the team, and you're gonna win the game for the school"

Dawn gasped and spun around. Shinx floated upside down behind her, a wide toothy grin across his face. She scowled at the creature and crossed her arms over her chest.

"This is the female changing room Shinx. Are you a female?"

"No but-"

"Then GET OUT"

"Dawn, stop sulking" Shinx spun around the right way and caught onto her shoulder as she briskly walked past towards the door. She bristled and tried to shrug him off, the cat-like friend still clung on and lay over her shoulders around her neck. He muzzled her chin, one of the perks of being around someone since day one was knowing when they needed something, and when they wanted you to piss off.

"I'll stop sulking if you let go" Dawn grabbed the door handle and looked straight on, but the corner of her mouth twitched slightly into a smile. Shinx slid of her shoulders and grinned, floating behind her as she walked out onto the playing field. He waved a paw.

"Break a leg!"

"It's not my legs you should worry about" Dawn smiled devilishly back at her companion.

"You're kidding right? If you think I'm going anywhere with him, you have one more screw loose than I thought Winry"

"Stop being such a stubborn midget" Winry fumed; she instinctively reached for her wrench. Ed seethed with rage at only the nickname.

"I AM NOT A-"

"Yo blondies!" Envy peered around from behind the door to the main room. He had a angry look plastered to his face. "Can you shut your traps? I can't hear myself think"

"You do realise this is our house?" Edward asked, flailing his arms. Envy rolled his eyes.

"Let me re-phrase that then. Can the honorable dwellers of this here accommodation shut up?"

"You're lucky you're Erin's dream boat, because if you were'nt I would have beaten you ass into the ground about now" Edward hissed the warning, clenching his auto-mail fist tight at the homunculus.

"You two are like a bunch of pre school toddlers" Jayme sighed from the other room, she sat on the floor, carefully administrating fiery make-up to Erin's face. The purple haired girl blinked and leaned over to look past Jayme at the door.

"What's going on?"

"Stay still or everything will smudge." Jayme pouted, and pulled Erin back to sit up in front of her again. "Do you want to look like an attractive devil, or a loony?"

"...First option..."

"Martel! Laps! NOW!" Scar shouted to the snake chimera, who was shaking Bido by the neck. She was obviously angry at something. She turned to the coach, her hands still wrapped firmly around the other chimera's neck. Scar crossed his muscular arms over his chest and stared back harder.
