My week of bliss and casual afternoons with Niall flew by faster than expected and classes had started. We were two week in and I felt swamped with events, homework, and upcoming tests. I was not surprised at all considering how much more serious college was than high school but still it was a lot to take it. The work wasn't hard or easy but it was hard to stay motivated and actually do my work. When you're in high school you live with your parents and they kind of make sure you are on track and do your work but in college all you have is yourself to motivate you. Without my parents threatening to ground me if I didn't keep my grades up, I almost felt no need to.
Niall kept me on track though. He had already been at the school for two years and he knew how to manage his time rather well. He had his eye right on his future and had grown up a lot since starting college. He was about to turn 20 and he was already becoming really successful and well known in his career of choice. He knew exactly what he wanted out of life. He wanted to me to be just as successful too so he pushed me to be a diligent and determined student and it really helped me. Knowing that he expected something out of me and believed in me really meant a lot.
Today was the first day back after the weekend and I had to admit I was a little nervous. I had just gotten used to my schedule and my teachers and now my American Literature teacher was leaving for the rest of the semester on maternity leave. I loved children and I loved that she was able to leave to take care of her new baby for a while but I was anxious to see my new teacher for the rest of the month. I loved my old teacher and I'm sure who ever the replacement was wasn't going to be as good as she was.
I walked into the big room we had our American Literature class in and took my usual seat next to my new friend, Sienna. She had the blondest hair in the world and big brown eyes. She was a really sweet girl and she always seemed really excited about something. She reminded me of Rose in some ways. She always said what was on her mind and she didn't care what people thought about her. She made me miss Rose a lot but she decided to go to beauty school instead of come join Niall and I at college.
"Rumor has it the new teacher is super hot", she whispered dragging out the sounds in the word "super". I don't know why she felt the need to whisper this but maybe it was because if other girls in our class found out we wouldn't get first dibs. Even after what happened with Harry I still died over hot teachers and I think every girl did. Now I just understood what actually happens when you get involved with your teacher.
"I'm sure he isn't that hot", I added," Remember when Mr. Humbert subbed are math class you heard he was hot but he ended up being the oldest guy ever."
"No, daisy, its legit this time. He taught my sister, Bianca's class this morning and she said she left with her panties soaked", she said and we both giggled a little.
Most girls in their lifetime would find a teacher of theirs hot, and mine was Harry. It would be a fantasy of mine still but with Harry I already lived it out. I had lived it out during my sophomore year of high school and I never wanted it again. It was one of my wildest dreams back then and now I had Niall to fulfill all of my dreams.
"Sorry, I'm late everyone I was just getting some lunch", the deep voice said walking in and everyone in the room looked to the door trying to catch a glimpse of our new teacher but by the voice I knew who it was. I would recognize that voice from anywhere.
"Daisy, you are going to die. I know you are like in love with Niall but this guy", she whispered in my ear and faked a moan. She poked and pushed at me pushing me to look up at the new teacher but my heart was beating at an alarming rate. I was curious as to what he would like now after 3 years had pasted but I could live without seeing him. My heart began to race, my palms began to sweat, and I started tapping my foot annoyingly.
"I'm Mr. Styles, I'll be teaching this class for the next 3 or 4 months. I'm really excited this should be a good class", he said and I never expected him to be so excited about teaching," I'm just going to take attendance and then we can get started."
He was going to know I was in this class weather I liked it or not and there was no avoiding it. I wanted to run out of the room, drop the class, and go find Niall for a hug but that wasn't so much of an option. I stared at harry while he read off the paper. His hair had grown out and now was almost down to his shoulders. He wore a white dress shirt and black skinny jeans with the same boots he had always worn when he was with me.
He called out all the names with ease, barely looking up to place a face to all the names but when he got to mine he froze. He looked at the paper for a little while longer and then looked around the room, obviously trying to find my face so i looked down.
"Daisy", he called out not even saying my last name.
"Here", I said and the both of us made eye contact. He smirked at me and we continued to hold eye contact until he named the next person on the list and went on, not looking back at me the whole class.
"Hazel, do you know him? He was totally smirking at you and no offense but Niall is cute but in a little boy way Mr. styles is such a man. I'd rather be with him", Sienna said and I rolled my eyes. I didn't want her to hound me about the look Harry gave me or even talk about it. I didn't want to be associate with him ever again. No matter what it took I needed to stay far away from him. I knew what he was going to try and do to me and it couldn't happen.
"Okay so I would say lets get into today's lesson but I feel like the first day should never be a lesson and today is technically my first day so", he said and laughed a little trying to ease the tension in the room.
For the first time I had seen what seemed to be a nervous Harry.
"So, class is dismissed go out and enjoy the lovely fall afternoon", he said and a wave of relief went over my body. I gathered my things and began talking to Sienna about anything other than Harry and the class but it seemed like all she wanted to talk about.
"Daisy, come over here", Harry called out as soon as I reached the door. I looked outside, to Sienna, then back at Harry.
"Go", she whispered nudging me and walked out of the room. The door slammed behind her and it was just harry and in the giant classroom. I walked down the steps and went over to where Harry was. I wanted to stand near him so I could hear whatever he wanted to say but my nerves were getting the best of me so I kept my distance.
"I missed you", he said and walked closer to me but I started moving back.
"No harry. We aren't doing this", I said and he sighed.
"Daisy, I promise you I am not like that anymore. I was a sick man when I was with you and I am not like that anymore. I promise you I just want to talk and catch up. How have you been?", he said and pulled a chair over to his desk so that I could sit across from him. I was nervous and didn't exactly believe him but I sat down anyway.
"I've been okay."
"Okay?", he said.
"Well, things haven't been to peachy since you destroyed my life and my mind and my image of what a good boyfriend is but its okay", I said and scolded me.
"Daisy, do not put the blame on me for all of that. You wanted me just as bad as I wanted you", he said and i stared at him for a second," Besides I don't want to talk about that."
"I'm leaving", I said standing up and walking up the stairs not looking back at Harry who I assumed was still sitting at his desk.
"If you walk out of this room you are not going to like the punishment you get from daddy."
