I crouch down in front of Charlotte. My hands gently, yet firmly wrapped around her upper arms. She stares back at me with a worried expression. How could she be the one to kill Wells? "Why, Charlotte?" I speak to her in a rushed voice.

"Bring out the girl, Bellamy!" Murhpy demands from outside of the tent we were all just in before any of this went down.

Charlotte cocks her head to the side, listening to Murphy outside. Her head snaps back to face me. "I was just trying to slay my demons," She peers up at Bellamy, who stands behind me. "Like you told me."

I exhale out of my mouth. I bite down on my lip. No, no. This is not what Bellamy meant when he told her to slay her demons. You never resort to killing someone.

"What the hell is she talking about?" Clarke demands from the other side of the table in the tent.

"She- She misunderstood me." Bellamy says.

I shake my head and rub Charlotte's arm. "Charlotte, that is not what he meant. He meant for you to not be scared. He didn't mean for you to literally kill your demons."

Her eyes scrunch up again as a new wave of tears hit her. Worry seeps through my veins for the little girl. If everyone wanted to hang Murphy when we thought it was him, what would they plan on doing to Charlotte?

"Bring the girl out now!" Murphy orders from outside.

Charlotte grabs on to my shoulders. "Please don't let them hurt me!" She pleads, fighting back her tears.

I bring myself to my feet with my right arm wrapped around her shoulder's, keeping her close to me. "If you guys have any bright ideas, speak up." I tell Bellamy, Clarke, and Finn.

The three of them remain silent, just giving me worried looks. Anger bubbles in my chest. Clarke is the one to always think of a plan.

Bellamy waves a hand at the two of them. His voice is anxious and annoyed. "Oh, now you stay quiet!" He snaps.

Finn's head whips around. "Those are your boys out there."

Bellamy's voice raises as he agressively points in Clarke's and my direction. "This is not my fault. If they had listened to me, those idiots would still be building the wall."

I shoot a glare towards him. "We can play the blaming game later. Right now, we need to figure out how to keep Charlotte safe. They aren't laying a hand on her." I state, protectively. In a way, she has become my unofficial little sister.

"You want to build a society, Princess?" Murphy calls out. Goosebumps rise up and down my arms at the nickname Bellamy had given me. When it comes out of Murphy's mouth, I just feel ill. Charlotte's arms wrap around my waist, tighter. "Let's build a societ. Bring her out!"

Finn ducks his head to peek out from under the tent. From just a glimpse, I can see Murhpy pacing out in front of the rest of the campers, like a newly enforced leader. The tent flap shuts when Finn backs away. Bellamy's presses his lips together in concentration.

"No!" Charlotte pleads. "Please, Bellamy!"

Bellamy falls to a crouch in front of Charlotte. He reaches out to her, grabbing her shoulders in his hands. "Charlotte, hey, it's gonna be okay." His eyes dart up to meet mine for a split second. "Just- Just stay with them. Don't leave Wren's side, okay?"

Charlotte's head nods against my side. Bellamy pushes himself back up to his feet. He half nods at me before leaving the tent to go face Murphy. Charlotte quietly whimpers against my side. Her arms tightly wound around my waist.
