Hermione's POV

When Slughorn told Annabeth that Liquid Luck is very hard to make, she grinned and whispered,

"Challenge accepted."
I walked up to the front, and decided to make Felix Felicis as well. I opened the advanced textbook to the recipe for the potion. This is complicated and will take many class periods to do. I looked over at Annabeth.

"I have a challenge." I said to her. "Whoever can make the best Felix Felicis will give the other 10 galleons."

"Challenge accepted." She said back. "Good luck. You'll need it."

I spent the whole hour of potions working on my potion. I hoped that Annabeth would mess up at some point, but we both ended up at the same point of a perfect silver color at the end of class. I walked out of class, my hair all frizzy, with Annabeth, who had put her wild hair in a bun.

"We really need to wash up." I said.

"Yea. I'll go clean up during lunch." She replied.

"Can I borrow a hair tye?" I asked. Annabeth gave me a scrunchy and I pulled my hair into a messy ponytail.

"Do you guys have Ancient Ruins as well?" I asked. Annabeth nodded and looked at me for directions. I lead The exchange students up to the Arithmacy classroom and sat down in the front with Annabeth. Percy, Nico and Thalia sat behind us.

"I wonder who our new teacher will be. The old one died last year in the war." I said. Annabeth shrugged.

"No one as interesting as Skyler." She said. I laughed and nodded. We waited silently until the bell rang for class to start. The new teacher walked in and the exchange students gasped. Well, it looks like this will be an extraordinary teacher.
