"Honey, I was thinking about something, and I wanted to talk to you about it," announced my mom.
"Ok, what is it?" I asked.
"Well, do you know what peer pressure is?"
"Nope."
"It's when people around you, like classmates, form a group and try to convince you to do something that you don't want to do... Like smoking a cigarette or getting a boyfriend."
"Oh, ok. Yeah, well what about it?"
"I know that some of your friends are pushing you to do some stuff, but if you want to do it, don't do it," she insisted.
"Mom, I know that. But get to the point."
"Don't get a boyfriend," she blurted out.
"What! But why?"
"Because you are too young for it."
"But everyone does it!"
"If everyone smoked, would you do it too?"
"No, but this is different."
"Ok, that was a bad example. But, take me. I wasn't going out at your age! I didn't have my first kiss at your age."
"You never told me about your first kiss," I said, curious.
"Well, my first kiss happened at camp..." she started.
"Aw! That's so cute!"
"... When I was seventeen."
"Wow, um, not so cute anymore."

Now I just felt bad for wanting to rush things so much. My mother actually had good points. But what was I going to do with Leo?
