Today is a Muslim holiday, and school is out. I'm having lunch with my friends (the ones from my old school). They have school today. We were going to a cafe where we could eat. This route was so familiar, I used to take it every day.
*flashback*
"Hey, hey, here he comes!" says Kitty.
I raise my head. There he is, alone, walking in our direction. My heart starts beating 1000 beats per minute.
"Wow! Have you seen your face?" comments Kitty.
I try to keep a straight face on and try to calm myself down. After all, it's just Xander, I tell myself.
When he looks up at me, I automatically smile. I hope I didn't look too stupid and desperate.
A second later, he's gone. He continued walking, and now he's behind us.
I look at Kitty. She is smiling. She looks proud.
"How did I do?" I asked desperately.
"Great," Kitty said. She looked sincere, but for some reason, I felt the need to ask again, "Really?"
"Yeah, you looked natural, caring... Even he was surprised."
I still couldn't believe it. I feared that she was being sarcastic.
"Really?"
"Definitely, but Rose?" Kitty said in a questioning voice.
"What?"
"Rose?"
"What?"
"Rose?"Now I was getting annoyed.
"What???"
"Rose?"
"WHAT!!!"*end of flashback*
"Wow, calm down!"
It was one of my friends talking.
"I'm so sorry, I spaced out," I apologized.
I was thinking about Xander, I thought. I didn't say it though.
