"Mom gave me the no dating speech. I don't wanna get in trouble. What do I do w Leo?" I texted Kitty.
"No one can blame u for telling him how you feel😜"she texted back.
"Ok then, I'll tell him," I decided.
"Really!!!"
"Yeah, why not."
"Ok."
"Can you help me practice a speech?" I asked.
"Sure, I'm Leo."
"Ok, I'm myself."
"Action!"
"Hey *hug*," I texted as myself.
"Hey," she texted as Leo.
"Soooo..."

"Rose, u have to say something else than so!!!"
"Ok."
"Soooo..." she repeated.
"I need to tell you something."
"Go ahead."
"I like you."
"Noooooooo!!!"
"What?"
"You can't say it that way, ur gonna scare him."
"Ok. What should I say?"
"Idk, you figure it out!"
"Ok. Let's start over."
"Soooo..." Kitty texted again.
"I need to tell you something."
"What is it?"
"Well, um, I, um, really like hanging out with you and, um, I sort of, um, well, um, like you."
"Too many ums."
"I really like hanging out with you and I sort of like you."
"Not enough ums."
"Ugh. You're so annoying. It's not like he was gonna count my ums."
"I'm just trying to help, if you want, I could just leave..." she threatened.
"Ok, ok. Fine."
"Start over."
"Well, um, I really like hanging out with you and, um, I sort of like you."
"Perfect!"
"How do I react if he says he does too?"
"Say that it's great and that you were very nervous to ask but that you're glad you did."
"What if he asks to date?"
"Say you don't feel ready yet."
"What if he doesn't like me back?"
"Well say that you don't want that to affect your friendship and keep a straight face."
"Ok. You think I can do it?" I questioned.
"Yeah (nope)," she responded.
"You don't believe in me!!!"
"Nope."
"Ugh. Fine, bye."
"Just kidding!!! Of course I believe in you!!! And, don't worry, if he's mean to you, I'll punch him in the face (virtually)."

I didn't answer, but I couldn't help smiling.
