Chapter 19

I heard the sirens in the distance as I slowly began to awaken. I was laying face first on a pile of glass. Where was i? The sirens began to get louder and I felt a steady drop of water on my head. I placed my hands under me and winched in pain as I pushed myself up. Glass cut open my hands and I sat up straight. I noticed blood was everywhere. Where the fuck was i? I looked around in this destroyed bus. Who the fuck were these two people? How did I get here? Where was i? I began to panic an feel paranoid. I started to shake and sob gently as I heard car doors shut. I couldn't see very well and everything felt foggy. My movement was limited and I have a terrible headache. My ankle was swollen and throbbing and so was my neck. I laid against the seat next to me and waited for help. I felt myself drift in and out. I heard a saw cutting through things and people mumbling. I felt hands on my shoulders and heard mumbling in my ears. I saw a bright light being flashed in my eyes and more mumbling. These strange people began to lift me up and place me on something. It hurt like hell and I was groaning with every move. They placed something over my neck and pinched my arm. They strung an IV and wheeled me towards a van thing. They lifted me up inside the van thing and began working on me. I lifted my head up slightly to see what was happening and pain ran through my neck and back. I looked out the doors before they closed and saw two black lumps. I tried to see what these things were and began to panic. They were two body bags that had bodies inside. I began to panic and try to push these people away from me but I was in so much pain I couldnt. They shut the doors and began driving somewhere. These strange people were putting bandages on me and doing god knows what else. I didn't like this but I felt it was needed. We stopped with a scream from the tires and they rushed me out of the van. They put a mask on my face to help me breath and rolled me through automatic doors. The bed I was on was covered in my blood and uncomfortable. I saw nurses and doctors rush around me; panic masked their faces. I was lifted up unexpectedly and yelped in pain. I heard a mumble in my ear and felt numb. I was taken to a room filled with medical supplies. There was doctors in clean white uniforms and masks on. They changed my mask and mumbled something while holding up ten fingers. Before they got to three fingers left I passed out. Everything was black and cold; peaceful.

I began to wake and felt numb; something wasn't right. I opened my eyes and winched because sunlight blinded me. I tried to move my neck but there was a brace on it that prevented me from moving. My leg felt heavy as I tried to wiggle my toes. My ankle hurt and was throbbing. I lifted my leg and observed a big blue cast. Great. I looked over and saw many IV's sticking out of my arm and many bags of fluids hung above my head. I had a numb feeling mask my body and I had foggy eye sight. Where was i? It seemed to be a hospital but I don't remember getting here. What happened to me? Why was I here? I couldn't remember anything but before I could think to hard about it some people walked in. A gentlemen with gelled back hair leaned towards me. He spoke but all I heard was mumbles. I was still dazed. He opened my eyelids and flashed light into them. They began to water as he mumbled something to the nurse and she wrote something down. He raised his hands and moved his fingers and looked back and forth from my hands to his. He mumbled something and I didn't understand. I snapped Nextel to my ears and I didn't respond because it sounded like gently chirps. He mumbled and the nurse wrote down something else. He grabbed my hands and wiggled my fingers then nodded his head towards me signaling to do it by myself. I tried to move my fingers and I hurt like hell but I could. Then he smiled and the nurse wrote more. He tapped my toes and I guess he wanted me to wiggle them so I did. I winched in pain but succeeded. The nurse wrote something down then left. The doctor help his hand out for me to shake but I could move my arms without yelping in pain. He nodded and walked out. A different nurse came back with tubes and a pink drink. She looked at me with a sympathetic smile and grabbed a small spray bottle from her pocket. She walked towards me and opened my mouth. She sprayed the bottle on my throat and I lost feeling in my mouth. It burned gently then went numb. She grabbed the tube and opened my mouth. I didn't know what was happening and I felt scared. She began to place the tube in my mouth and go deeper. Once she was down I could hardly feel the tube in my throat. She opened the bottle with the pink liquid and started to pour it down the tube.. She was tube feeding me. I began to feel numb all over and began to get dizzy. She removed the tube and threw it away. She then looked at me and placed her hand on my cheek and rubbed gently. She walked out of the room and I felt paranoid. I lost all feeling in my body and my head was whirling. I began to feel very light headed and I didn't feel well at all. My eyes started to shut but I was fighting against it. I was trying to stay awake. Were they killing me? Maybe it was easier this way.. I left my eyes shut and my body shut down. Maybe this life long battle will finally end. Before I could finish my thought, I blacked out.
