Chapter 21

(Seto's POV)

*moments before*

I crept slowly through the forest, careful not to disturb any wildlife. Squillium had told me to follow Sky and the rest of his bunch through the forest, reporting back every so often.

"I can't believe I'm doing this." I mumbled to myself as I lit my way through the trees with my magic. I looked down at the map I was given.

"Ok, where is your little cave Sky?" I muttered, scanning the map. This map wasn't an ordinary map. When I got in distance of the group, they would show up on the map in different colored dots. I looked at the map, but saw no dots. Sighing, I trudged further on.

"My god Sky, where are you?!"

I was starting to get frustrated. I had been walking through these woods for like, an hour, and I haven't found even one of them. I angrily pulled out my map and opened again. I gasped as I noticed a small clump of dots.

"I should've known..." I said as I realized their landmark. I stuffed the map in my pocket, and ran off.

I soon made it to the cave that held my targets. Before I stepped in, I listened for any voices. I couldn't hear anything. I slowly crept in, making my steps quiet and breathing as shallow as possible. I pulled out a night vision potion from my pocket and drank it in one gulp. I closed my eyes for a few moments, and when I opened them, I could see clearly in the cave. Everyone was in their sleeping bags, except for Jerome, who was sleeping up against the cold cave wall. I sat down, and just watched them for a little bit. They were all so peaceful, much more peaceful then me.

That's cause they are at peace in their dreams, where you fight all your battles in your dreams.

As I landed deep in thought, I didn't even realized Sky had stirred awake. I saw his sparkling gold eyes make contact with mine, and out of instinct, I splashed an invisibility potion and ran.

"Squillium!" I huffed, running into my boss's office.

"What?" He asked rather grumpily. "I'm busy."

"Sky and his friends are on the move. They found your hint." I gasped. He grinned evilly.

"Good. I was hoping they would be smart enough." He looked at me.

"Now, you go and visit your little friend down in the prison. I have a feeling the first stage of our experiment will happen tonight." My eyes grew wide.

"Sir! You didn't!"

"We had the opportunity. You wouldn't pass up a golden opportunity, would you?" Squillium said, sneering. I frowned.

"Oh, come now. You don't have feelings for him, do you?" Squillium smirked. I lost eye contact with him.

"Mmmhmm." He said, crossing his tentacles.

"Go."

I sighed, and walked out of the room.
