(Sky's POV)
"Jerome is dead."
I felt like I had just been hit by a truck. I stood, dumbfounded in my cell. Mitch stood in his cell, completely still. Ian stood up slowly, and lightly grabbed Mitch on the arms. This caused Mitch to break out of his temporary shock, and he went full battle crazy.
"YOU LITTLE! HOW COULD YOU! HE WAS YOUR FRIEND!!!" He shrieked, thrashing against Ian's grasp. Somehow, Ian was still able to keep a tight hold on Mitch.
"Mitch, Mitch calm down. Calm down Mitch." He cooed, trying to calm the devastated boy. Mitch crumbled to the ground, and Ian gave him a comforting hug. Mitch was bawling, and I didn't blame him. Everyone was taken aback by what Squidlox had just shared. Jason was now on his side, facing the wall. Even though I couldn't see his face, I could see his body convulse from crying. Ian was now crying with Mitch too, and even Liz was shedding a few tears.
My hand shot put done between the bars of my cell, and I grabbed Seto, who was standing foolishly close to my cell. His face hit the bars, and he stared at me, frightened.
"How could you...." I said, my eyes blazing with anger. He struggled to free himself from my grasp, but I was holding on to him as if the fate of mankind rested upon it. "He was your friend. He cared about you, and this is how you repay him? By not even trying to stop his death? I thought I felt sympathy for you, being stuck here with this foul creatures. Heck, I even felt sorry when we kicked you out, all those years ago. But now, now I'm glad we did. Your no better than any of the squids here." Seto stared at me, horrified. He obviously was not expecting what I said. I didn't care. Squidlox grabbed my arm with his tentacles, and wretched it off of the sorcerer. He fell onto the floor, stunned. He stood up quickly, and dashed out of the prison. I stood solid, watching him run out of here like a baby. I growled as the door closed behind him.
"Tsk tsk Sky. That's no way to treat your superiors." Squidlox mocked. I glared at him, but said nothing. Squidlox sighed, and started walking away.
"I'll be back in 2 days time. When I return, you better be ready for a day you wouldn't wish on your worst enemy." He said slyly, glaring around the cells. We all stood, rigid. He laughed, and walked out of the room, slamming the door behind him.
"Ian! Is Mitch ok?" I called out, as soon as Squidlox left.
"He's fine now. He's sleeping." He said, pointing to Mitch, who was now, as Ian said, sleeping on the floor.
"Good. I would recommend we all get some shut eye too. After a day like today, I need a good dream to keep me sane." I said dully, laying down on my back. I heard the shuffling of feet, and I looked over my shoulder to see if the others had all decided to sleep. They did.
I shifted around for half an hour, but I couldn't find a way to sleep. My mind was replaying the events of earlier, and now I was becoming paranoid.
What if Jerome's fate will be one of the others as well? I don't think we can afford any more loss. We are all on our last bits of hope, and if someone else dies, what will happen then? Would we all be as good as dead?
Jerome: noooooo Citrus D: lemme go back into the story!
Me: sorry Jerome, I can't right now.
Jerome: right now? What's that suppose to mean?!
Me: only time will tell Jerome. Only time will tell.
Jerome: *grrrrrrrrr*
Me: don't blow a gasket Jerome. The future is still bright.
Jerome: whatever that means.
Me: Oh Jerome. Anyways guys, hope you enjoyed, and until the next chapter, bye!
