(Sky's POV)
I raised my head at the sound of the wooden door opening. The light let in through the door was blinding, and I quickly shielded my eyes against it.
"What do you want?" Liz grumbled. Two squids had now appeared in the cell hall. Without explanation, They opened each cell, taking each of us and cuffing our wrists. Ian cocked his head to the side, confused as to why we were all being taken out of the cells. Jason walked beside me, shaking.
"Sky, I'm nervous. Something doesn't seem right." Jason muttered to me. I nodded.
"I know what you mean. They never brought Mitch back either." I noted.
We were brought into the the large Mayor's office again, where we were met with Squidlox and Squillium. The guards pushed us to our knees, and bound our feet together so we wouldn't have anyway to escape. They then left the room, leaving us with the two squids.
"Ah, so good to see you all again. How are your cells? Are they comfortable?" Squillium asked. Ian snorted.
"Anyway, I haven't brought you here to chit-chat. I have a question for you all, and I want an answer." Squillium said.
"And what is your question." I growled. Squillium smiled.
"I'm glad you asked that Sky. Well, you see, your other friend, Mitch, didn't really seem to comply with what we were asking. So, we were hoping one of YOU would instead." Squillium explained calmly, as if expecting on of us just to start babbling.
"And why would we do that? Do you really think we are THAT idiotic?" Jason said. Squillium glared at him, and he shrunk back.
"Well, if you won't do it, then perhaps this will change your mind." Squillium looked at Squidlox, and Squidlox moved aside from where he was standing, revealing a large life-sized ragdoll. Ian gasped and Liz seemed to choke mid-breath. I stared in horror as I suddenly realized it wasn't a ragdoll.
It was Mitch.
He was slumped against the wall, his eyes closed and mouth hanging slightly open. I could see a deep gash in his throat, which had been recently cleaned, but not covered. Jason held back the feeling to vomit, and I looked away.
"How could you?! You just killed another one of your friends!" Liz snarled, a death-glare shining like fire in her eyes. Squidlox rolled his eyes.
"He had a chance to save himself and his friend. It's his own fault he's dead." Squidlox said casually.
"Right. Now, one of you will sell the group out in front of everyone else, or you will be picked off, one by one." Squillium said, smirking. I looked at the rest of my friends. They seemed just as shocked. Liz, as much as she tried to hide it, was shaking madly, Ian was just staring at the floor, and Jason was mouthing something under his breath.
I heard the door open, and saw Seto walk in. His hands were behind him, and He glanced quickly at me. I stared at him, a cold, deathly glare penetrating him. He didn't seem to notice, but simply winked at me. I stared, confused.
"Ah, your back Seto." Squillium exclaimed. He nodded. As I looked at his hands, I saw a potion being twiddled around in his fingertips.
So they plan to use potions to kill us?
"Yes, I'm back." He said calmly. "I also wish to say something." Squillium nodded.
"What do you wish to say boy? A convincing word to your friends? Something to convince them to fess up? A hate note? A death threat-"
"No Squillium. That's...that's not it." Seto said. I could see he was nervous, but his eyes glowed with determination. "I just hope that they will forgive me after this."
And before I knew what happened, he pulled the potion out from behind him, and threw it on the ground. The room filled with a sort of smoke, and somehow the binding on my ankles and wrists disappeared. I stood up, and saw that Jason's, Liz's, and Ian's bindings had also broke.
"Come on guys! We need to get out of here!" Seto called through the smoke. As Squidlox and Squillium were coughing and confused, we dashed out of the room and into the Squid city. As we ran, I could here Squillium yell to his guards.
"Quickly! Do not let them escape!"
"Seto! What are you doing?!" I yelled as the Squid guard began to chase us.
"I'm doing the right thing! Now come on, we need to get to the enterance!" He yelled over his shoulder. I was momentarily shocked, but then realized what he meant. Even when we had kicked him out of team crafted and the Sky Army, even after the squids had recruited him, he still was loyal to the Sky Army.
"I'm glad to have you back." I said to him, and he gave a small smile. But that smile didn't last long, when he came to a skidding halt. I accidentally ran right into him, and had to catch myself before I fell to the ground like a klutz.
"Seto! What are you doing?!"
A young boy, probably a year or two younger than Seto, stood in our path. He had brown hair and green eyes, and wore a red shirt and blue jeans. He also wore a blue cloak.
"Trevor! Let us pass!" Seto called out to the boy. The boy took a step forward.
"What are you doing Seto?! Those are the prisoners! Why are you helping them escape!!" Trevor called out, hurt coating his voice.
"Trevor. Let. Us. Pass." Seto demanded. I looked behind us, and realized that Squidlox and the Squid Army were on our heels.
"How could you, you traitor! They are the enemy here! And your helping them?! What about all the things we did together to get them here?! That potion you made to turn me into a squid so I could infiltrate their training ground and kill a recruit?! My capture of TY?" He screamed.
"You were the one who killed the recruit, AND captured TY?!" Ian cried. Liz and Jason stood rigid, trying to process all the information coming at them. I just stared at the boy.
"I'm sorry Trevor, but my heart was never in the Squid Army. I will, and have always belonged to the Sky Army." Seto called. Trevor quickly started up his magic, a brilliant blue flame dancing between his fingertips. Seto, in turn, started up his magic as well, and his purple flames danced even more expertly on his fingertips.
Trevor sent the first ball of magic hurdling at the group. We all jumped aside to avoid the deadly spell, but Seto quickly put up a shield, that absorbed the magic. Seto then closed his eyes, and swung his hand in our direction. We were instantly kitted with diamond armor and swords, all enchanted.
"Quickly! Run to the gate! I can take Trevor." Seto said, before sending a ball of purple magic hurdling at Trevor, who just barely dodged it.
"What about Ty! We aren't leaving without him!" I yelled over the commotion.
"To free Ty, you have to destroy all of his tentacles!" Seto said as he dodged a mean looking spell. Concentrating, he whispered a spell under his breath, and Trevor was thrown up into the air.
I looked behind us, and realized Squidlox was extremely close. "Come on guys, we gotta go! We can fight Squidlox in a more open area!" I yelled. Liz, Ian, and Jason all began to run. As I followed behind them, a single thought ran through my mind.
We are gonna save you Ty. No matter what it costs, you will be freed.
