(Sky's POV)
We all walked back to the base, keeping at a steady pace so we could get home before the sun sat. The leaves on the trees seemed to rustle a sad song as me and Mitch walked sulkily behind Liv. As we broke away from the trees and found out cave, I smiled slightly at the sight of both Ian and Jason sleeping under a tree. I motioned to Mitch, who looked over and snickered. Jason shifted, and sleepily lifted his head away from the tree.
I started walking towards him to annoy our return, but there was no need. Jason instantly recognized us, and he shot away from the tree towards us, hobbling every other step. He even pasted Liv without giving her a second glance.
"I'm so glad you guys are back! I was getting really worried! Did you find Jerome?!" He asked quickly. I sighed and shook my head. Jason slowly took off his helmet, and quickly ran his hand through his hair. He sighed.
"I was worried you were going to say that. Well, I guess we can only hope he's safe, where ever he is." He said sadly. I nodded. Mitch, who was standing quietly beside me, shifted uncomfortably, clearly showing he was still troubled from the disappearance of Jerome.
Ian, who was now awake, strolled over to us, clearing his hair away from his face.
"Hey dudes, how was the sear- who is that?!" He asked, jumping back and pointing at Liv. She smirked and walked forward.
"The name's Liv. I hear your looking for the squid. I am too." She said, holding out her hand. Ian, who was still shocked from the sudden appearance of the unfamiliar blonde, slowly raise his hand to shake hers.
"Hm, the smart one I see. Doesn't trust your company at first sight. That's a good quality to have." She said slyly. Ian looked over at me, concerned.
"Will you excuse me and Sky for a second Liv?" He asked. She shrugged, and walked over to Jason, and starts talking to him. Ian lead me inside the cave.
"What do you think your doing! We can't trust that girl Sky! She may be working for the squid!" Ian yelled, fuming. I was silent for a second, shocked at Ian's sudden tone.
"Ian, you do realized that every minute we waste bickering here, that's another minute away from saving Ty, and you remember the note, don't you? They are going to do something to him, and if we don't get there before it happens, people's lives may be at risk!" I shot back.
"I understand that Sky! But we can't take a girl off the street and trust her instantly! We don't know her motives and loyalties, and trusting this girl may out our lives at risk! It's just too unsafe!" Ian stated, and to be honest, he had a point. Though, I was never going to admit it.
"Ian, you and I both know we are desperate to find Ty, and the more numbers we have, the better. We are going up against an entire squid army, and we need all the support we can get. Ian, she's phenomenal with a gun, I've seen her use it. Please, just this once, trust me. This girl's loyalties are with us."
Ian looked skeptically at me. After a minute, he signed and gave in.
"Fine Sky. She can travel with us. But I'm not going to like it." I smiled, and walked out of the cave. I realized it was much darker out now, and saw thick clouds start to roll in.
Rain. Just what we need.
"Jason! Liv! Come to the cave! It looks like it's going to storm soon, and we need help with a fire!" I called out. They came strolling over, and we all helped get a fire going and some food cooking.
The rain had finally started as we were eating, making it feel very uneasy in the cave. The Lightning would cast long, weird shadows into the cave, and the thunder would shake the walls. To add to it, there was a strong wind with this storm, so the wind howling made it sound like a scene from a horror movie. Jason was shaking, Ian was staring uneasily at Liv, and Liv was sitting against the cave wall like this storm and her presence was no big deal.
"So guys, we need a plan. Where is this squid base, and how do we get into it." I said after dinner had been cleaned up. Liv looked at me, shocked.
"Hold on a sec. We are going to the SQUID BASE?! Are you people crazy?!" I just stared at her with a straight face.
"Our friend is in there, probably being tortured by those nasty things to turn to them. We have to save him." She stared at me, but said nothing more.
"So, any ideas?" I asked. Ian and Jason were silent, looking at eachother and shrugging. Mitch was silent, staring at the ground. Liv scratched her head, and then gasped.
"I think I know how we can get there, AND in at the same time."
I looked at her curiously. "What's your idea Liv."
"Well, back at my town, there is a small bar down in a sewer system that is always full of those reeking squid. All we have to do is go down there, get caught, and they will bring us to the base!" She said, smiling proudly. I exchanged glances with Ian, Jason, and Mitch, who were all staring at her with wide eyes.
"So, your idea is to turn ourselves in to our enemy?! We'll look weak!" Mitch spat. Liv didn't even flinch at Mitch's comment.
"You'll only look weak for a second, until you find your friend. Then you guys can get out of that place and back to wherever it is your from." She said casually. Mitch was curling his hands into fists, but he kept them by his sides.
"You know Sky, it might sound crazy, but it may work. It would be the quickest way to get there and save Ty." Jason said, looking at me. Ian nodded, slowly.
I looked at Mitch, who still looked unhappy at the plan, but I could tell he knew this was the only way we would find Ty and maybe even Jerome.
"Alright. Liv." I said, looking at her. "Show us to this bar." She smiled, and hopped out of the cave. We all climbed out behind her, and we bolted off into the trees.
Jerome: Hey everybody! It's Jerome here, and thanks to me, the author finally updated! You guys can thank me in the comments ;)
Ugh. Jerome. For the last time, you didn't make me update. Although, I think taping the messages on my mirror to update every night was a little creepy.
Jerome: but, it scared you into updating, and I think that is a win in my books!
*sigh*
Jerome: oh yea! Also guys, I'm doing good. I saw some of you had asked how I was doing on previous chapters ;) I mean, it sucks Mitch isn't her with me, I miss my Benja a lot, but this place is pretty cool, and Citrus is nice. She lets me look into the pool whenever I wanna see my Benja :D anyways, Citrus had to go do a quick errand, so she told me to thank you guys for all the support for the story, she really appreciates it! She is looking forward to updating, and hopes you guys are too! So, like she says,
Until next time,
~Jerome (and Citrus too I guess)
