(Jason's POV)

I watched in horror as Sky slumped to the floor, blood slowly seeping from the wound. Liz was now sitting, a look of horror on her face.

"SETO YOU JERK!" I screamed, running towards Sky. Sky was unconscious, his eyes closed and breathing shallow. His glasses were laying next to him, broken.

"IAN! IAN COME QUICK!" I yelled. Ian, who was rigid with disbelief, snapped out of his trance and rushed over.

"What are we going to do Jason! If Sky...moves on...its just you and me to rule the army!" Ian said, slurring half of what he said due to panic.

"I don't know... Just stay in there Sky!" I sputtered out. Squidlox watched in mock sympathy.

"And to think you turned against me Seto. But you have redeemed yourself quite well. Help untie me from these bonds, and You will be well rewarded for your action." He mused in a grotesque, happy voice. Seto didn't walk over to help Squidlox. He didn't even glance at him.

"I hope you know Squidlox, that even though I might have pledged myself to you all those years ago, I never left the Sky army. Maybe at the time I was in a dark place with my emotions and wanted revenge, but now, I can see perfectly that the love and brotherhood I felt towards all those members never really faded. So, that act right there wasn't to save or help your reign. It was to end it."

Almost like it was a switch, Sky began jerking on the ground. His body spazzed, and 6 long, golden tentacles erupted from all different parts of his back. The sword that had been impaled into Sky's gut was no longer there, as if his body had absorbed it. Sky's no-longer-covered eyes shot open, revealing two golden pupils. I could practically see the magic swirling in them.

Sky stood up, as if nothing had happened. At that same moment, Seto let out a blood curdling cry. A dark purple matter released itself from his body, and flew away out into the world. Seto's body collapsed. Ian quickly ran over to check on Seto, while I watched Sky.

Squidlox's face was masked with confusion and horror. "What is this?!" He helped as he wrestled with his bonds.

Sky said nothing, but simply clapped his new tentacles together, creating a large ball of golden magic. His eyes were closed with concentration. And in a split second, his eyes opened again, and he thrusted the ball of pure magic at Squidlox. Not only was it a direct hit, but some of the stray magic also ended up striking Squillium. Right through his blue little heart.

Squidlox screamed in agony. The magic was so powerful, that it managed to rip off all of Squidlox's remaining tentacles at once. The magic disappeared, and Squidlox, who was now tentacle-less collapsed to the floor.

As for Sky, his magical tentacles too disappeared. His glasses were still broken, but his magical looking eyes had faded to a more humanly color of gold.

"Um...what just happened?" He asked.

"Guys! Come over here!" Ian called. Me and Sky rushed over to Ian, who was sitting next to Seto's battered body.

"Seto...what happened back there?" Sky asked Seto, grabbing his hand. Seto tiredly smiled.

"I was able to harness the magic from my apprentice's body and combine my own with his, and give it to you to defeat Squidlox." He said as if it was no big deal.

"Seto, your saying you gave up your magic for me? Us? Ty? Why?" Sky asked quietly.

"Well, I suck at apologies, so I figured that would do." He said jokingly. Sky chuckled, and hugged Seto.

"Uh guys, speaking of Squidlox...." I suddenly remembered Ty, and I rushed over to Ty/Squidlox's beaten body. All of the other squids who were standing by Ty's body instantly scurried off and hid. I could care less.

I bent down over Ty's body. The scales on Ty's body and blue color on Ty's headphones were now gone.

"Ty?"  I asked quietly. His eyes slowly opened, squinted against the light of the Squid's city. The eyes were maroon.

"Is...is it over?" Ty asked, slowly sitting up. I screamed with delight, and threw myself at him, embracing him in a hug.

"Ty! Your back!" I cried happily. Ty grimaced, and I quickly climbed off of him.

"Ty! Oh my god, your back!" Adam and Ian cried in unison. They both have him large hugs, which he returned with the same reaction.

"Ty, you look awful! What did they do to you?!" Sky said instantly, beginning to look Ty over. Sky was right. Ty was extremely under fed, and looked fatigued. He was weak.

"Come on Ty, let's get you back home." Sky said, beginning to pick him up. But he wouldn't stand up. "Ty? What's wrong?"

Liz came running up. "So, this is the boy you were trying to save? He's pretty runty." I shot her a death glare. Her normal say-what's-on-my-mind attitude was the last thing Ty needed right now.

Instead of answering Sky's question, Ty instead mumbled out, "who is she? And...where's Jerome and Mitch?"

"This is Liz. We met her on our way to save you. She's a fighter, I'll tel you what. She probably kicked about 50 squid's butts." Ian said, purposely leaving out anything on Mitch or Jerome. Ty just nodded, blankly staring at us. Then, suddenly, he started crying.

"Ty, what's wrong?" Sky asked, instantly sitting down next to him and putting a comforting hand on his shoulder.

"I just realized. I killed... I killed Jerome. I killed Mitch! Two of my closest friends, murdered by my hands! Oh....oh how can I forgive myself! How can YOU forgive me?!" He said, throwing his head in his hands. I walked over and sat down next to him.

"Ty, it may be true that you can't bring back Mitch and Jerome, but we don't blame you for their deaths. The monster we fought 10 minutes ago was not you. You are extremely kind and loyal. You would never do that to your friends." Ty sniffled, but nodded.

"Come on Ty, let's go home." Ian said, reaching out a hand. Ty took it and hoisted himself up, and then took support from Adam and him.

We all walked out of the cave, and into the blazing heat. Ty flinched at the sight of the sun.

Wow, this kid has been under a lot in the past few weeks.

"Well guys, thanks for taking me along on your crazy adventure. Time to part ways." Liz said to us, hugging each of us.

"Where are you going to go?" I asked her. She shrugged. "Well, we could always use a new recruit." I mentioned. She smirked.

"As fun as that sounds, that isn't a life for me. This trip has been too heck tick. I think I'd rather stick to the shadows. But it was fun. Thanks for everything Jason." She said, giving me a quick peck on the cheek before running off. I didn't know what to say. I turned to Sky, Ian, and Ty, who were all smirking. Ian whistled.

"What was that all about Jason?" Sky said teasingly. I blushed.

"Come on, let's get Ty home." I said, starting my jetpack and taking off into the sky.

Sky and Ian followed behind me, with Ty in their supportive arms.
