(Sky's POV)

I was led to dark, mucky prison below the city hall. The walls were coated in algae, and the stench of squid was practically written on every stone. As they brought me down a series of hallways, my mind ran with images of what I had encountered. That blasted squid mayor, the hidden base, and Ty. I just couldn't seem to grasp hold of his new image and the glare he gave me as we left. It pierced me like an icicle.

"Hey you, let us out of here!" I lifted my head, noticing that we were getting close to my comrades.

"You going to be sorry once I'm done with you!"

"Where is Jerome?! You better tell me, before I decide to gut you like a fish!" I heard the familiar threatening voice of Mitch. I heard a slap, and his threats fell silent.

Finally, I was able to spot out the dark checkered pattern jacket of Mitch. There were two gaurds standing outside his cell, looking furious. I gazed down at Mitch, who was now laying weak on the floor, his frail hand still up against the door. I coughed, and he looked at me. He said nothing, but simply looked at me, with eyes filled with loneliness and pain. Ian sat next to him, his head up against the wall and his hands running through his hair in frustration.

I was then paraded in front of the next cell, which housed Jason and Liz. Jason was laying on his back, his eyes screwed shut. Liz sat up against the wall, looking unnaturally calm. She cast an angry glare at me, but I ignored her. Her temper was starting to become a common thing now.

I was lead and thrown into the very last cell in the hallway, which was close enough to the other cells to hear my friends, but isolated well enough to not be able to see them. The squids laughed as I was pushed inside, and fell to the ground, too exhausted from the trip and the events of earlier to catch myself.

"Not so tough when your in our territory, huh Sky?" The squids taunted. I said nothing.

"Oh come on, we expected more from the great Sky. Or was that really just a costume you played to earn the respect from your comrades, because right now, you look like you would be respected as much as a piece of trash." My body shuddered in exhaustion. The squid guards laughed, and slammed my cell door shut. I heard their slimy tentacles slither out of the hall. Using the last of my strength, I managed to push myself up against the wall, away from the awful flooring.

"Ugh, I should never have joined you!" Liz cried out. "If I would have just ignored you like every other person, I wouldn't be in this mess!"

I shut my eyes, feeling the familiar warmth of oncoming tears forming. I clenched my teeth, desperately fighting back the tears. I had to stay strong, and look undefeated. How else was I suppose to make my friends feel any sort of hope?

"This is all my fault." I whispered under my breath.

"What are you talking about?! This isn't Sky's fault!" I heard Jason challenge Liz.

"Yeah, this was the plan, wasn't it?" Ian chimed in.

"We will get out of this, together. We will get Ty and Jerome back, and we will all celebrate, back at the base, like we always do after a victory." Mitch squeaked quietly.

I stifled a gasp. I couldn't stop it. Listening to the guys defend me, all the hope they had, that we would return home, back to the recruits, with Ty and Jerome, was too much for me to bare. I stopped fighting against the tears, and allowed them to fall silently. I brought my hand to my head, covering my face.

Finally, the fear I had kept concealed for so long, was free.

Sorry this chapter is so short guys! But I'm a little short on time and I wanted to get something out.
