(Ty's POV)
I laid up tiredly against the wall, miserably feeling as if I were terribly sick. I had a massive headache, and my body was shaking madly. To add to my joyous time, my eyes felt dry and painful. I slowly put the palms of my hands up to my eyes, hoping it would diminish the pain. Unfortunately, it only made it worse. I quickly pulled my hands away from my eyes. I laid down on the floor, exhausted.
As I laid on the floor in a moaning ball of pain, I heard the squeak of the old wooden door at the front of the prison and the steady rhythm of footsteps echo on the stone floor. I tried to open my eyes to see my visitor, but they were still glassy from some tears and felt as if they had been scratched with knives. Not bothering to try anymore with my eyes, I just decided to listen to the visitor as they walked. They sounded like they came to an abrupt stop in the hallway.
"W-who...who is it?" I weakly called. I got no response.
Probably those idiot squids to come take me for blood testing....again.
I heard them walk up to my cell door, and grab it. The doors shook wildly, making a loud cloud of noise. I hissed.
"You know, I'm not really in a mood right now to get another needle stuck in my arm like I have for the past week, so why don't you just go do the test for me today. You'd actually do something right in your stupid squiddy life!" The visitor laughed quietly.
Suddenly, the pain in my eyes were starting to ebb away. I waited a few moments before opening my eyes. They didn't seem to hurt at all. I pushed myself into a sitting position, and finally looked at my visitor.
I jumped back in shock. A boy who looked about my age stood there, wearing a purple cloak and a distinguishable white headband. An image of me with my arm wrapped happily around this boy flashed in my mind.
"S...Seto?!" I stuttered, scared and confused. The boy, Seto, my childhood friend, looked at me, clearly shocked at my state. I slowly stood up, my legs still wobbly from the pain. My shirt hung loosely from my body, most likely from the one meal a day plan that serve around here. I walked up slowly to the door, where I could see him better.
"S-Seto! What....what are doing here. WHY are you here?!" I exclaimed, confused, but ecstatic at the same time. I mean, it's not everyday you get to see your childhood friend again. I reached one of my pale hands through the bars, and he grabbed it with both hands.
"Oh my god Ty.....you look sick!" He said looking at me from head to toe.
"That doesn't matter at the moment, Seto! What are you doing here! I thought....I thought you died years ago!" I said, my voice dropping to a low whisper. He dropped my hand, and looked me in the eyes.
"Ty...what have they done to you?" He said, peering closer to me, a look of horror on his face.
"W-what do you mean?" I asked, confused. He flicked his wrist, and a small hand-held mirror appeared in front of me. I gasped. I noticed that my hair was dirty and sticking to my face in some areas, and there were large bags under my eyes. Speaking of my eyes, I gasped as I realized that they were a bright blue color, instead of their normal maroon. I looked at Seto, scared.
"H-how did this happen?!" Seto looked just as shocked as I. He shook his head.
Suddenly, the hall echoed with the booming voice of another player. Seto turned his head down the hall, and saw a boy not much younger than him standing in the doorframe.
"Seto! Where are you?!" Called the player. Seto quietly cursed. He looked back to me, and through pained eyes, he slowly reached his arm through the metal bars of my confinement, and ran his soft hand over my tear stained cheek.
"I'll be back soon." He said quietly. He then gave me a small smile, and ran off out of the prison, to join the younger player.
"Wait....Seto! You never-"
But before I was able to finish my sentence, he closed the door behind him and I was left in darkness.
(Seto's POV)
"Trevor! You know your not suppose to be down here!" I said as I closed the door of the prison behind me. I slapped him on the arm.
Trevor, my...apprentice, per say, was about 5 years younger than me. He had brown hair , like me, and green eyes. He wore a blue cloak with a red shirt and blue jeans.
"Jeez, sorry. I just wanted to see the prisoner, that's all." He said, looking at me. I looked at him.
"Well, this place is off limits to you. The mayor said so." I said, folding my arms. He rolled his eyes.
"Mayor-shmayor. I don't care what that guys says. We're sorcerers. If anything, he should be serving us." Trevor said boldly. I sushed him.
"Alright. If you want to end up like that prisoner back there, be my guest. But if you don't, I would recommend you shut up." I said crossly. Trevor rolled his eyes, but said nothing more. We walked up and out of the prison and back into the squid city. Trevor waved goodbye as he ran off to go hang out with some of his squid friends. I, on the other hand, had to go report back to Mr. High and Squiddy.
I pushed the door open to Squillium's office, not even bothering to knock. Squillium looked up from a stack of papers and smiled.
"Ah, your back. Did you go see our little friend in the past week?" He asked, and I nodded.
"Well, what did he say?" Squillium asked curiously.
"Nothing much really. He looks really thin and worn out though. I also think his may be sick. The wetness and coldness of this place isn't good for a player like him." I exclaimed.
"And why not? Your a player too." Squillium pointed out.
"Yes, but I'm a Sorcerer as well. I can't get sick. Your prisoner on the other side? He can, and he will if you don't do something." I retorted.
"So what if he catches the sniffles?" Squillium lazily replied, laying back in his chair.
"So what? What if he gets more then just the sniffles! What if it's something serious, like pneumonia? He could die!" I said back, raising my voice.
"So? One less recruit to deal with." Squillium said, not getting the picture.
"Fine. If you want to wait on your deathbed, be my guest. Just don't come running to me when Sky and his friends kick through that front door expecting their friend back." I said, beginning to walk out.
"Wait." Squillium said. I turned around.
"Yes?"
"Fine. You can go heal your friend. But we can't feed him anymore then what we are already. We have to ration our food out enough just to feed our people." Squillium said stated irritably. I smirked, and walked out of the room. As soon as the door was closed, I bolted off out of the city hall building and off to the prison, where I was about to play doctor check up.
