-------------------"So Sky....uh....you didn't seem too keen on leaving Ty by himself back there." Jason said as we both walked through the cave system. I nodded.
"Yea...I can't deny that Jason." I muttered, rubbing my neck.
"Why are you so worried about him? I mean, he's a great fighter. He can protect himself." Jason said, looking over at me with his piercing blue eyes.
But he can't protect himself from everything. I thought to myself.
"Yea...your right. I guess I'm just a little overprotective, huh? I guess him being the youngest just has a factor on me." I muttered. Jason nodded understandingly.
"I mean I can't blame you. You guys have your whole contract thingy, and you guys are practically brothers." Jason said encouragingly. I smiled.
"So..uh...how's training coming with the new recruits?" I asked, trying to change the subject.
"Oh, training! Yea, it's going well, there are a couple that look pretty skillful already. Probably their father's teaching them." Jason said. I nodded, adding in a small chuckle. Jason looked like he was going to ah something, but he quickly turned his attention over to a nearby vein of butter he had spotted. He broke the yellow ore with one mighty swing.
He finished up the vein of butter pretty quickly, and when he picked up the last of the butter off the floor, something below the dust made him gasp.
"What is it!? Is it squids?" I asked urgently. Jason turned to look at me, and smiled. He pointed at the floor, and as I looked at his feet, I saw something blue shimmering in the rock. I smiled.
"Diamonds!" We cried happily. Jason threw his pick into the stone, and I imitated him. The rock soon became loose, and we were able to pull out the gem from the middle of the block with ease. We checked around, making sure there were no more. Seeing none, we threw our stuff back into our backpacks and kept walking.
---------------We had been mining for about 2-3 hours now, and we had gotten a pretty good haul. 22 iron ore, 16 butter ore, 54 coal, and 4 diamonds.
"Well, we should probably start heading back." Jason said after a little while. I wholehearted agreed, feeling tired. We retracted our steps back to the main cave in a jiffy, thanks to Jason's photographic memory. Since Ty had still not returned, we had decided to lay out stuff nearby the way out, and lay against some nearby stone. I sighed as my body relaxed. I yawned, and closed my eyes.
---------"Sky! Jason! Help me!"
I shot upright, my glasses nearly falling off my face. Only one word came to mind as I heard the cry for help.
Ty.
I ran over to Jason, shaking his shoulders. He opened his eyes, and yawned.
"W-wha is it Sky?" He asked groggily. I didn't answer. I was too busy grabbing Jason and I's swords. I threw the sword at Jason, and it landed with a loud clunk on the floor. As soon as Jason saw the sword, he knew there was trouble somewhere.
"Come on Jason! Ty needs us!" I said, starting to run down the tunnel Ty had gone down go mine in. Jason ran swiftly behind me.
"Sky! Jason! Anyone! Please!" I heard Ty call again, this time sounding even more frantic then the first. I ran around a corner, and stopped abruptly. It was a fork path. I looked at either path, and listened for Ty to call out again.
"Do you know which way he went-" Jason said. I shushed him. I thought I had heard something. I looked at both paths, and then looked back at Jason.
"Follow me." I said, and I ran off down the left path. Jason followed obediently. I jumped over a small hole in the ground, landing gracefully on the ground. Jason followed me, imitating me almost perfectly, and we were off again. We ran up and down tunnels, around corners and down paths. Ty's frantic calls rang throughout the cave, and at times I was almost tempted to call back, but I knew it would be no use.
Jason was breathing heavily as we rounded a last corner.
"Wait, Sky, can I....I just...breath...for *huff* a second.." Jason croaked, and I nodded.
"Ok...but quickly! We need to get to Ty!" I said urgently, and he nodded. He stood back up, and nodded, signally he was ready to start running again.
We soon came upon a trail of torches, and followed them at light speed. We had heard more cries for help, and every time I would pick up the pace even more.
It wasn't until I heard a gut wrenching scream that I realized how much danger he was in. With a scream like them, I would have expected him to have met Herobrine or something.
"Come on!" Said Jason, running next to me in good rhythm. We came across a semi large cave, and there were more torches leading down one of the trails. We traveled a little ways down, and soon came to a giant hole in the center of a cave. We approached slowly, in case this was a trap, but I could hear whimpers, and I instantly ran to the side of the giant hole and peered over. Jason followed, and his eyes grew wide. Ty was down their, holding his knee with one arm and the other frantically looking for a sword. It was then I realized he was defenseless. I waved down, trying to get his attention. He looked up and saw me and Jason. He eyes grew wide, and I mouthed to him,
We're coming.
